I didn't know you were local to Bournemouth estreet. I was playing in Lymington on Friday night. You could have come along!

In other news it took me 2 hours to make a 45 min journey last night because all the roads I wanted to use were closed due to flooding! My compadre spent a further 2 hours making the trip from my house to his (normally 45 mins)

I'm only going out in the dry from now on.

Taunton is a fair way from Lymington - whereabouts are you based? Are you 45m from Taunton towards Bournemouth? We get as far as Blandford or Shaftsbury quite regularly. I live in Bournemouth itself and our  normal playing radius is about 50 miles around there. We regularly play the Kings Arms in Lymington High Street with The Lizzards and I've depped there a few times with The Shakers too. We will have to meet up sometime.

I'm a long way from Lymington! Haha. But yes, 45 mins from Taunton in your direction. Lymington is on the outer reaches of my mate's circuit (he's in Bridport, Dorset) so I went along for the ride. We played at the yacht club there - I forget the name already.

But I play in the Britannia Inn, Poole quite regularly. That's next door to Bournemouth, right? Would be excellent to meet you

The Britannia? Wow, I last played there in 1983. I was completely unaware that they still had live music - is that with drums or as a duo? Original or Covers? There are some good gigs in Poole - much more so than Bournemouth. Any good ones in Bridport? We used to play the Ropemakers - which was a great gig, but the landlord was hard to get sense out of - usually pissed I think. If you are at  The Britannia and I'm not working, I'll come down.

Hahaha yes the current landlord is very keen on live music. There's an open mic there on sun 9th Dec (which I won't be able to make) and another on 27th Jan which I will probably go to.

But in terms of gigs I'm part of a duo - playing mainly covers, but we throw in a few originals too. I'll let you know next time I'm doing a proper gig there.

Bridport is pretty good for live music - No 10 Cafe Bar has music most nights, and there are a few other pubs whose names I can't remember! (I never play in any of them except No 10).

I think the Ropemakers still do music but not 100% sure.

Well I did my last day at work today till 6th Dec. Because I'm moving to Bournemouth on the 30th Nov! 

Closer to Lymington than Taunton but hopefully I'll arrive at a gig or two where you chaps are appearing.  And if I get my act together you can maybe catch an open mic acoustic set from me in the new year. 

Hope to make the Britannia on moving day night.

Cool Mihkay - I play 2-3 nights most weeks in Bournemouth or Poole so plenty of chances there ... I know plenty of the open mic people round here so I can point you in that direction too
