Another one I penned a while ago. I cannot stress enough that this is simply tongue in cheek and NOT a moral judgement on others. When penning it I aimed for a good upbeat Pop song (in fact I've come up with a melody/vision of it being the love child of Mambo No 5 and Dance with me tonight). Lyrics are pretty self explanatory (I swear I'm not bitter about it ;)).

Again I'm only a lyricist but if any producers/composers/vocalists like the sound of the lyrics and fancy trying to develop them into a song along the lines above then hit me up on the 'Collabs' thread and we'll see what we can do.

As always constructive criticism and feedback welcome :)

V1
I remember you walking out baby,
Lied and said you just weren’t happy,
The only thing you did to help,
Was promise I’d find someone else,
But you were only trying to save face
For when I discovered that,
You’d been messing round behind my back,
That drove me to the darkest place

PC
I was down and out in the gutter girl,
You were laughing on the top of the world

C
On top of the world, on top of the world,
I was down and out in the gutter girl,
You were laughing on the top of the world,
On top of the world

V2
I won’t lie it was hard at the time,
Nearly drove myself out of my mind,
But karma triumphed as it transpired,
He dropped you then you got fired,
Yeah seen you in the club one night,
Smiled to myself as you walked past,
Cos I seen with my own two eyes,
That your diet just didn’t last,

PC
Mc Donalds is a danger of the gutter girl,
But I’m loving it on top of the world

C
On top of the world, on top of the world,
Mc Donalds is a danger of the gutter girl,
I’m loving it on top of the world,
On top of the world

B
Now they say you’re giving out lots,
Haven’t seen you since but I laughed,
Cos I heard your kids have different dads,
Guess a leopard don’t change its spots

C
On top of the world, on top of the world,
Yeah I’m living it up on top of the world,
You’ve giving up on the top of the world,
On top of the world, on top of the world,

Outro
Yeah I’m living it up on,
You’ve giving up on,
On top of the world

Heh, McDonalds.

It's good. Definitely on the head of the nail with the 'silly pop song' thing. It seems, IMO, that it would be funniest if delivered in a serious-ish tone. I have (nondescript male pop artist)'s voice in my head while reading this and it was hilarious (the song, not his voice).

Thanks for the feedback, glad you liked it. That's a great idea I'd never actually thought of trying to put a serious kinda spin on delivery but I think it could work and add to the light hearted intention of the lyrics! ;)
