Love this. Hypnotic, gets inside your mind! You could do loads with it. Soaring middle maybe. Or you could just leave it as it is. Great track.

Hi Jim,

"Whoophee!" I thought when I saw you posted another song as I've loved everything you've done in the 3 months since I joined the forum. This reminded me a little of The Velvet Underground.

You have such a distinctive style and you're so comfortable with it, like an old overcoat. You make it seem effortless which maybe it is. Fantasic lead playing on this and a lovely rough careworn edge. Total class.

Great track! Really got my foot tapping... and a very catchy hook-line!

Loving the percussive sound of the acoustic guitar.
Really good vocal performance, but the distorted effect was just a bit too much for my own taste.

I think the "unpolished" sound works great with this one, good job :)

Works for me!

Rough suits this. The vocal fuzz goes well. Not overused so the lyric still cut thru.

I would perhaps vary the drums a little and/or the acoustic pattern. But then it is sufficiently short as a piece for neither to grate.

Good song :)

quite a sprightly groove for you jim but still your trademark uk swamp thing..
like the lyrics.  bits of some dark story..  reminds of nils lofgren on vocal,
excellent guitar mix, a little more in the drum dept maybe, percussion kick
but really good track
i may not believe this tomorrow...

Ace Jim,

Very upbeat - more mojo than normal

The vocal effects really suit the song and the recording is excellent

Another fine effort  ;D

dont you ever do a bad song matt?
i liked this  a lot ... youve realy got your own sound & i honestly dont know how you manage to play  so little on the lead but make it sound so good .. you always seem to choose the right notes!
but i didnt know whether people were jumping on the trains or under them so you need to post the lyrics becos theres quite a diffrence between commuting & suicide!
dont be ashamed of your lyrics ....with songs as strong as yours they wont be laughed at
Tell me Im wonderful & I ll be nice to you :)

This one cool tune mate. Wish you had posted the lyrics for this. The hook line has the sinker attached, its that good !!!

Guitar is great and the beat is very infectious. The vocal is very welll sung but I find the effect a tad too much perhaps if it had been only used for the chorus and backed off a bit for the verses. But thats just my personal preference as others have liked it as is.
Great song and thanks for sharing.

agreed with Habitat, this does not sound like a rough track! Sounds great to me. Vocal effect is spot on, you've got such a clear style, love your stuff. I like that the guitar isn't to fiddly, less is definitely more sometimes, so it enhances the sound rather than overpowers it. More please! With lyrics! They sound awesome but I can't pick them all out.
