Heres a song me and FLOSSIE are working  out/on,,it`s not complete,,and in fact it`s all been changed and added too....some of the lyric is being saved for a second song,,although i would prefer to keep it intact..

Sorry Flossie if you didn`t want this being shown but ,,the feedback might help you to see it through different eyes.
It`s under feels so good,,but is jumping bridges.

https://soundcloud.com/songsthatcry/feels-so-good

These are the full lyrics,,not all have been used in this draft of the song. :)

and when i reflect on it all
i was always going to go
and when i think about it,think about it
i know i said it all

cos you`ve got me jumping bridges
when the waters feel so cold
swimming with the currents
to somewhere i don`t know

got me  jumping bridges
when the waters feel so cold

cos i`m north of a river
south of a lover
had to cut myself loose
,one way or another..

now i`m sitting in an old chair
stripped down to the wood
being held by a radio song
and it feels so good
and it feels so good

standing on the edge
still time to take a chance
a shimmering  hope
but it won`t last for long

i know my grip is weaker
than when i first took hold
and now i'm really falling
falling,theres no return

and when i reflect on it all
i was always going to go
and when i think about it
i know i said it all

cos you`ve got me jumping bridges
when the waters feel so cold
swimming with the currents
to somewhere i don`t know

i`m jumping bridges
when the waters feel so cold

and i`m north of a river
south of a lover
had to cut myself loose
one way or another

now i`m sitting in an old chair
stripped down to the wood
being held by a radio song
and it feels so good
and it feels so good

i`m just north of a river
south of my lover
had to cut myself loose
one way or another

now i`m sitting in an old chair
stripped down to the wood
being held by a radio song
and it feels so good
and it feels so good

jumping bridges.
north of a river
jumping bridges
south a lover

and it feels so good.....

A beautiful song and wonderfully sung. The piano work is extemely good. I would like to have heard some strings enter around the 30 sec mark and stay with the song till about the 3 min mark and then just let the piano and vocal take it home. Cant wait to hear the finished version.

Guys this is really nice, very simple voice and piano. I really like it and can't really think where you could improve it. Maybe build it with some strings and simple percussion or a cello near the end but it really is nice as it is.

Good job :)

Yes it`s nice..but the next one ..which i won`t play until Floss as finished it fully...as more depth ...a change of lyric...as strings etc...and altogether classier ..i think.

This is definitely a work in progress, it wasn't produced or anything, when I write I hit record and sing and play the piano, so I'm glad it wasn't too bad! i think I prefer the other version which is completely different in melody so perhaps you might like to hear that too when I've finished writing it!

Thanks anyway for the comments, and of course you can write a song for me Binladeda I'd love to give that a go x (talk about ego boost!)  ;D ;D ;D

Really beautifully sung. Feels like you mean it. Thoroughly enjoyable listen. I agree about the strings, but I'm such a sucker for a song in its' raw form. Great work.

Great vocals and nicely played piano. I would have liked some lyrics though...

It is crying out for strings or some woodwind. As the basis of a great recording, it's a great song.

Hi,

Nice tune. I hear a simple bass line, a bit like the descending bit in Air on a G string, just walking alongside Flossie.

This works fine as it is, but eqaully the openness of the melody and the chord pattern allows for interpretation

The main chord sequence is reminiscent of "River" by Joni Mitchell, which itself plays off "Jingle Bells". I smell an acoustic mash up  ;D

I look forward to seeing where this goes. And equally, redo and finish a version in this stripped down format as it is lovely. (I say redo as in its rough stage there are a couple of timing slips :) )

Ok .. i've  literally just sent FLOSS a re-done set of lyrics ..which i hope get around a few niggles......but this song i've posted is more or less dead..but it will give birth too ,2 better tracks..hopefully.

I knew it would be fairly well received.. but hey.  ;)

hey you two -

Stunning piano and even better vocals Floss - I can't take in the lyrics fully but what I can hear sounds the biz

This could be potentially very commercial and you should definitely work towards a full production - very worthwhile indeed  ;D

Had to have a listen James to River, I like that relaxed wandering vocal style, it feels almost like improvisation that Joni Mitchell uses. No click track = flossie majorly out of time!!!

On the new version (totally different melody) I have used a walking upright bass so interesting that you suggested it Digger.

Thanks Kaf it's kind of a few ideas slotted together, so it's more unstructured than my usual!!!  That's why I like writing to other people's lyrics and stc's are great!
