I just replied to Kafla's post and it made me think...

Pre-forum, I did a fair amount of dabbling with this music lark. I foolishly thought some of it was good. Now I listen back and find it SOO funny, and embarrassing  :-\

Do you have a 'Listen and Laugh' folder/disc?

If so, I DARE you to post something from it. Come on, make us laugh.. :D :D :D

I've got an absolute stinker on a CD that I'll post if you do :)

I would go first but I'm still blushing from my Youtube appearance  :D :D

hab..

Here is an idea I had recently - you might recognise the lyric ::)

I was recording the idea in the kitchen while my wife was having a long lie - you can hear the kids play in the background  ::)

Hahahahaha :D :D.. that's the spirit, good man  :D :D :D :D

It has potential, i think.. well maybe 30 years ago hehe..

Ok, for mine... the stinker I mentioned was a song called 'the mirror' but my laptop just formatted the disc instead of ripping it :( I'm honestly gutted... >:( >:(

I think my Dad has a copy so I'll try to get it and add it later, the last time I heard it I laughed out loud it was so cheesy..

Anyway, I'm a man of my word and I've got plenty of this old cack so here is my next best worst thing.. It's very quiet, the soundcloud waveform looks very odd, but it is there and its worth listening at least until the "harmonies" kick in..

Well, you've asked for it...

http://soundcloud.com/michael-tkt/the-way-we-were

I recorded this 3 years ago using a cellphone headset as a mic, and a cheap guitar amp plugged into the line-in socket of my laptop... also I had no idea how to properly use the software  ;D
That accounts for the bad audio quality.

I think this was the second song I ever wrote (well, I wrote the music to some lyrics a friend gave me) and at that time I had only been playing the guitar for like 3 months, so THAT accounts for the rest...

Enjoy ;)

(I can't believe I just put this on the internet...)

Well Michael.. apart from the rather odd bass that keeps jumping into my right ear, and the slightly out of time production..oohh, where did the bass go?  oh there it is hahaha

This is pretty good for an early effort recorded with a phone and only 3 month playing experience. I'd be quite proud of it. Quite an abrupt ending though haha.

Good man :)

Thanks for sharing :)

Here's one that makes me cringe a bit  :-[  but in my defence it was done as a joke with emphasis on the word terrible which is in the song title  :D

I don't have recordings, but I do have my first book of lyrics.

At one point I decided so many of them were so bad I ripped them out, and the ones that are left are still terrible.

Maybe I'll post one over in the lyrics section...

Hehe...good thread.  Here's something we did a while ago, where the vocals went horribly wrong.  If I hit a bad note when I'm playing the guitar, I can sometimes cover it up by repeating the mistake, so it seems like it was done on purpose....I'm sure we've all done that one  ;D..  so we thought we would try it with vocals  ;D and ended up with this.....I quite like it ;D....am I mad....   http://soundcloud.com/binladeda/hello-how-are-you

There is some interesting stuff here...

Here is one of the first songs we ever recorded....featuring me (a 16-17yr old me) singing. eek.

We have a whole album we recorded from this period...  :-[
