I didn't comment on this thread when it first surfaced as I didn't really have any feelings about the song - overall I was disappointed and just thought it was a bit "meh"
HOWEVER...
I went to see the Bond film at the weekend and hearing the song "in context" just transformed it for me
I had goosebumps and it had a massive impact, connecting perfectly with the story of the film at that point
I am not sure if it was just the context, the arty graphics of the opening sequence, the cinema sound system, no distractions - or probably a combination of all of the above! - but the song was just perfect
