I`m a singer-songwriter based in Birmingham UK. I don`t usually do the R/B-soul style you describe,but I want to give it a try.
I`ve been in a studio and made a demo of three songs in June this year. These are at reverbnation.com/barryledgister. I have another song demoed as a basic track for another producer to work,this fell through,but the track was to fit a Bruno Mars pitch,an artist who is definitely
sometimes a modern take on RB/soul
I have another dance-pop number un-demoed and this is to a Taio Cruz style (`Break Your Heart` especially). I`ve only recently appreciated Cruz` work,and love the ballads on an mp3 album I have, `The Rokstar Collection`. I`m writing a few things in that vein,and would love to do a full demo in that style,not necessarily of my own developing songs. I have the Bruno Mars thing I can upload--live guitar,drum,synth,bass and keyboard plug ins with my lead vocal and overdub,18 wav files on memory stick.
But if you want me to try a vocal on your material,I`ll listen up to the artists you mention. A lot of my material is `soul` anyway,but there is a particular sound and arrangement to the style which I want to get on my songs that certainly the three songs on the link diverge from (they`re pop-rock/reggae-pop and AOR pop blues-ballad)
Between now and Xmas I want to build on and complete the basic demo I already have,do the dance-pop song as demo,do an Adele `type style song (want to collob with a female pianist on that--vocal and keyboard only for a comp) this male vocal RB/soul (presumably gonna be a ballad)
Gimme maybe a couple of specific songs in the genre and I can do a guitar and voice version,but it probably wouldn`t be miked up/studio quality,just to give you an idea.
Falsetto may be a bit rus rusty though
