IN ANOTHER LIFE

So you say you know me from way back when
In happier times, days were a lot longer to you then
Before the madness, but a long time after the child
A bright but lonely ship had almost sailed

I was someone’s  husband you were somebody’s wife
Well that must have been in another life

A blackjack player just lost his luck and lost another hand
Someone’s flight just got cancelled, it’s got no place to land
And look there’s another thing that I should’ve  done
should’ve kept on walking, should’ve learnt to run

And you say you knew me when good times were rife
Well that must have been in another life

Your face looks familiar, I’m sure I can place it now
Some people don’t change that much, they don’t know how
Slaves are always the ones who have a change of heart
It’s never to late to finish,  it’s never to late to start

Maybe your different, I never did want to carry a knife
Well that must have been in another life
