Hi, some links of interest for anyone with some broadcast ready original material :)

I managed to secure a radio play myself with 'My Life' :) You must make sure you have setup an account on the BBC for the Uploader
http://www.bbc.co.uk/introducing/uploader
and have a sound cloud account.

Submit your track here (Read the Notes!):

http://soundcloud.com/groups/freshnet-dropbox/info

If your track gets picked it ends up here where anyone can vote for what they think are the five best tracks (Don't vote for your own) although the voting does not impact on the your chances of airplay:
http://freshonthenet.co.uk/batch30/

and then all being well it gets BBC Radio 6 airplay :)

Cheers
Kirby

It's a great resource Kirby,

Unfortunately in Scotland the designated show is Ally McRae who specialises in dance / electronica

I sent him a few songs a while ago and I got a really nice personal email back from him saying how much he enjoyed the music but that it wasn't dance / electronica

Brilliant to hear that you have got so much exposure  ;D

This is for anyone... anywhere in the UK and is for airplay on BBC Radio 6 Introducing and as long as you are on the BBC uploader (which is easy) and on soundcloud, then you can submit to the listening post for a chance of airplay. Ally has know influence in what gets picked for this show... I don't think, unless he's one of the moderators.

Cheers

It gets sent to your local BBC radio station

Ally suggested I send my songs to BBC Leeds - don't know why ?

Anyway I may be wrong but that's what he said

Unless he was taking the piss out of me - ha ha

No need to send them Leeds.. unless you want to, it's all marketing and promo at the end of the day so actually why not.
Just make sure you upload your tracks (Three a month) to the BBC uploader as they have to be on there to be considered for BBC Radio 6 Fresh on the Net as it's a stipulation of theirs.

Also if Ally's show is an Introducing show then they've got to listen to everything as it wouldn't be fair to single out based on specific style/genre unless it states that the show is only say electronic/dub step or whatever :) I had a look at Ally's BBC Intro page, looks like they play
anything ?

PS Found another link: http://www.bbc.co.uk/podcasts/series/scotintro

Anyway give it a go, OK.

Cheers
