 ::)Hi,

A song about a relationship ending and the regrets that go with it along with celebrating the good times as well. I hope you like it.

Original Version here: http://soundcloud.com/alan-walker-4/eyes-of-ocean-blue-final

A quick update. Nooms has kindly arranged an orchestral part for this which is here:

I think he's done a lovely job. What do you reckon?

I'm leaving here tomorrow I'm freeing you
Please don't try to follow I guess it's true
That being lost
Is worth the cost
Of the love that we knew
The love that we knew

The fading light I don't want to fight lets hold it to the sun
Hold it to the sun
You're the only one
Your cotton dress one soft caress your eyes of ocean blue
Eyes of ocean blue
I still love you
I'm holding on
Still holding on

This world is full of strangers I'm close to you
A sea of broken faces and a thought that flew
A thousand miles
Through endless aisles
Of colours flooding through
Colours flooding through

A voice inside is calling and I want something new
Don't be sad and crying this is long overdue
The empty days
Just tick away
Could you save me a few
Please save a few

The fading light I don't want to fight lets hold it to the sun
Hold it to the sun
You're the only one
Your cotton dress one soft caress your eyes of ocean blue
Eyes of ocean blue
I still love you
I'm holding on
Still holding on

I'm sitting in this cafe on a warm summer's day
Watching people talking but I've nothing to say
They cant't see
How it feels to be
Just drifting away
Drifting away

Beautiful Monty  ;D

You're the only one
Your cotton dress one soft caress your eyes of ocean blue
Eyes of ocean blue
I still love you

If I am being really honest I think it could be pruned back a few minutes , 3 - 3 1/2 minutes and the best lyrics condensed and it would be just perfect for me ;)

But very beautiful, honest and heartfelt - really poignant  :)

enjoyed this immensely- quite a lovely piece of poetry sculpted into a soothing melody and song. there is an air of Fleetwood Mac style fingerpicking eg 'Landslide' that gels nicely with the Johnny Cash-esque vocal delivery. extremely heart felt and honest song. touching. :)

I enjoyed this a great deal - nice flowing folky feel to it. Nice melody - enjoyed the ease with which you performed and played very much. Put me at my ease as a listener. I did wonder if there was going to be a variation in there - a short middle eight just to mix it up a bit - or alternatively perhaps look to reduce the length a little?

But really very good indeed. Thank you for posting. BTB
not really good at anything - but as long as I am breathing I will keep on trying

oooh ive gone all funny! i do love a bit of  crooning!
i read the lyrics first & thought hmmm a bit cliched but as soon as you started singing them they sounded perfect & realy beautiful to
its to long tho i think its always best to leave people actualy wanting more instead of giving them to much
just listened again your voice definately makes my knees go weak ....now if you put a electric guitar solo in & growled a bit aswell id probably lose consciousness!!
Tell me Im wonderful & I ll be nice to you :)

beautifully sung monty,
almost early presley 'love me tender' on some of those notes, lovely rich tone..
in a perfect world i think an oboe or something like that could be introduced behind your vocal..
really enjoyed it

i may not believe this tomorrow...

Hi Alan,

Fne lyrics and a thoughtful melody to accompany.  I'm sure that this would be fully appreciated in a live setting at the right venue.  I'm hearing Glen Campbell at times coupled with the fingerpicking style of Paul Simon.  Both are artists that I love to hear.

well done and thanks for sharing.

Yep, nice, chilled out song, just my sort of thing. The guitar is very nice, it might benefit from a simple bass guitar track on your finished recording but it's nice kept simple.

Good job :)

Soothing
Relaxing
Warm

Simple, yet it works. Basic components well woven

As a rough demo it is lovely. I would perhaps find a way to either snip it down a few minutes or change up the colours/arrangement a few minutes in. Few, beyond those of us that love an acoustic yarn, would likely stay gripped for 5 minutes

The Cliches don't bother me as they suit the delivery and the lyricism. They aren't grabbed off the shelf, they are employed as you wanted.

Nice stuff

Lovely!

I much prefer your voice in this register than the lower one on a previous track

The tone is much richer and the slides from high to low with the breathiness are great

I would concur with the comments about distilling the best of the best into an absolute cracking 3-4min song

This is definitely my favourite of yours (so far...)

:) Very nice Monty, very relaxing and peaceful. I look forward to your updated version, hope you decide to record it soon. I have a guess that both recordings will have their special aspects (this one a very natural and personal feel) and the next one...look forward to it!

Have a lovely Sunday.

Thank you so much to all who posted with their comments - I'm pretty overwhelmed by the positive feedback as I wasn't sure this was good enough to post.

I take on board your comments about cutting the length - you're absolutely right. Now all I've got to do is cut it down to 3 and a half minutes and then add some electric guitar and growl for Tinam and I'll be sorted! Thanks to habitat and nooms for their suggestions on arrangement. I'm going to give them both a go.
