Hello Internet, here's my first lyric post - try not to laugh too hard...

There is a place I would like to go
Where the flowers sing and the tree trunks glow
Where the sunlight dances all the way through the night
Where the stars twinkle all the time
And where the moon stays up till the final chime
And where Mary and her little lamb lay until they die

This is where I would like to stay
A special place where the grown ups say
Don't worry, everything will be fine

I want to see all these magical things
Where the horses are waiting for the King
Where Humpty Dumpty stays on the wall
Steady and strong, he will never fall
Where you can eat all the blackbird pie
And where the baby in the cradle will never cry
And where the roadrunner runs and runs and runs away

I'd like to live in this brand new world
Where the cartoons are real and the perfect girl
Is out to sea just waiting, waiting for me
Where the itsy bitsy spider will never drown
And where the people in the town are never down
It's a beautiful scene, oh wouldn't you like to see?

All the adults they always preach
And now I am dreaming that I will reach
A place where I can run across the beach

I want to see all these wonderful things
Where the horses are waiting for the King
Where Humpty Dumpty stays on the wall
Steady and strong, he will never fall
Where you can eat all the blackbird pie
And where the baby in the cradle will never cry
And where the roadrunner runs and runs and runs away

On the merry-go-round
I can look all around
But I'm trapped in a shroud
Part of the perfect cloud
From the top of the trees
I can hear my mother sing

Look out as far as the eye can see
Hold on tight, you are free

I can see all these perfect things
Where the horses are still waiting for the King
Where Humpty Dumpty is still on the wall
Steady and strong, he will never fall
Where I can eat all the blackbird pie
And the baby in the cradle has never cried
And the roadrunner runs and runs and runs away
Where the roadrunner runs and runs away from me

And when I saw the roadrunner fly
I realised and I started to cry
I finally saw that this is all a lie...

What genre do you see this in?

Hold on, good different or bad different?

I suppose I intended it to sound like a nursery rhyme - no idea really what genre. Something quite light hearted though. I imagine a lot of strings involved. What genre do you think it should be in?

What aspects of it make it strange? And do you get the overall message? Thanks for the feedback by the way, taking the time to read and all!
