I got a text message from her yesterday
she's met someone else and she's going away
never thought I could feel this down

specially on christmas eve

With an XBox game I can't even play

Well I'd been out shopping the day before
Bought her something special from the langerie store
She looks so good in pretty white lace
but now bitter sweet is all I can taste

She'd drive around in a pink corvette
She came from Newcastle and called me her pet
Hated that name but didn't like to say
Yeah my girls gone away

First Up, MODs, can someone move this to the reviews forum ta as it has a song link attached!

I found this quite endearing. The words are a little "yoof" for my liking (xbox, txting et al) which narrows the market. But they are less bothersome heard rather than read. Your voice is very much like the chappy fronting the Arctic Monkeys. In accent and range.

I like the spikey arpeggiated guitars and the song bounces along nicely. It didn't grab me for the full 4 minutes, my mind wandered towards the end. But that might just be me, other might find it more captivating, it just lacked a change, a grab, for me.

Nice first entry here though
