Yes, she's one of my  fav :D
Seen her a few times live now (indoors gig, fest, solo gig) and she's always amazing.

I've got the same loop pedal, it's an AKAI Headrush E2 :)

Hi Stephanie , how do you find the akai looper ,did you get it thinking "this is going to be great
" then got it home and found it really hard to use ?  or do you use it a lot , in other words is it worth getting one ,kt makes it look easy to use , can us mere mortals have the same success with it ?

I has a Boss loop pedal that, which sucked to do things KT-style.
The AKAI is really handy. It takes some getting used to to get the timing right, esp. your basic loop has to be correctly ticked on and off. Once you've got that, you just build on it and timing with your foot clicking isn't really an issue anymore, because you just play on your basic loop.

Also it's got a delay and echo delay function, so that's a bonus. You can't use them together tough.
Fair warning: I didn't find it in stock in any of the music shops I went to, but maybe that's just here in Belgium. They had to order it and I had to wait for two weeks or so.
But I'd say it's been well worth the investment up to now  :)

I'm a looping nut.... I have the Roland RC-50 which can run 3 parallel tracks which don't have to be the same length, and this means you can loop a four bar percussion loop over a thirty-two bar chord sequence if you want and then bring them in and out if you want to. It's an amazing machine and I love messing about with it. I have used it for some ambient/experimental gigs but the potential for big disasters in normal gigs is huge if you miss the pedal or whatever. I have written a song just for it which I've been meaning to perform and post sometime but real life stuff is taking all my time at the moment .... hence being mostly absent these days.

Nonetheless - take a look at this guy - he's really got it sussed  and uses the same looper as me. The idea of using two bass strings on his acoustic is pure genius!
I've worked out how he does this track and it's not as complex as it seems - but it is brilliant. Now if only I could sing like him ..... Bet you play it more than once!

PS - I used to have the Headrush - it's a good pedal but has no memory or looping features - good if you want to keep it simple. They are easy to get in the UK Stephanie - 'Absolute Music' near me keep them and do mail order.

Well, I had the RC-2, which is really a pain, since there's only on button that you have to click, double click... Very annoying. But yes, you can store your things, which you can't with the AKAI. But then again, I don't really need that.

Cool clip. Great voice indeed!  :o
The two string thing has been done before though (Seasick Steve, KT Tunstall), but it is cool  :)

What they are doing is using a guitar with less strings though.... What this guy is doing is that he has the top 4 strings of a normal guitar and the then two bass-guitar strings on the bottom ... In a lot of the song he is just playing the bass live on those two strings whilst the guitar part loops.
