Thought a nice idea for a thread might be a discussion about Later with Jools Holland. A place to discuss the show each week as it is perhaps the only show out there for real live music on British TV (correct me if I am wrong)

Firstly, if you haven't heard of her before, go check out "Melody Gardot"

Read the section about her accident, proper heart wrenching stuff

Plan B were (was?) strangely decent. I liked the atonal piano. I saw them(him?) live a couple of years back and he has gotten stronger vocally

And Punch Brothers were cool. I saw them support the amazingly talented Amos Lee a few months back. Check them out, but mainly check out Amos Lee, amazing soul songwriter with a growing cult following!

Ms Marling is lovely all round. She is great live and no doubt did a great job on Jools.

I hear they are now doing a short 30min live to tele show on a Tuesday night, with a longer, properly edited show on Friday evenings.

But, as always, iPlayer!!!

I haven't caught up with this episode yet, but I did check out Melody Gardot. The string/ orch arrangements on her record are pure bliss. I could listen to that all day
