Rules for posting in the Song review forum:
Only members own songs can be posted for review; no cover versions or other copyright protected materials please.

Please do not upload the mp3 or digital file of your song to this forum.  We recommend using a service such as soundcloud or youtube to host your music, and then link to it from your post.  Simply post the url of your video/ audio file into the post, and the forum should fetch it for you and embed it into the thread.  Alternatively, you could post a link to your myspace page, but bear in mind that some people tend to avoid myspace because it can generate such heavy pages that they stall or crash your browser...

If you don't want your topic to be deleted, please read and follow the rules as shown below.

You may only post one song every 14 days. No exceptions

Post only one song per thread even if you come back to your song later.

Do not simply post your song. Tell the members about your song:
Why did you write your song?
What are your aims for your song? for example, to be published, for personal pleasure
What aspects of your song are you looking for comments about? try not to say 'all of it'

ALWAYS post the lyrics with your song. Your topic may be deleted if you can't be bothered. If your song contains swearing, please include a warning in the title - this forum is open to minors.

FAILURE TO FOLLOW THESE GUIDELINES MAY RESULT IN YOUR TOPIC BEING DELETED WITHOUT WARNING OR EXPLANATION

Remember to review other members submissions. Those who do not review other songs will find that their own songs tend to get ignored - or even deleted without warning.

If a member posts songs without reviewing other members' work, or doesn't take part in the community, feel free to politely refer them to this thread. Do not flame or abuse them. Abusive posts may be removed, and posting privileges may be withdrawn.

When reviewing, Be constructive. This is one of the most important guidelines of all. It's fine to say if you don't like a song, but you must say why. Likewise, posts such as 'Wow, great song' although nice are not helpful. Please give reasons for your opinions on a song. Feedback from other artists will benefit the community greatly.

Review the song! There is a separate section for reviewing recordings.  Please use it :)

Be patient! If your song has not been reviewed a few hours after you post it, please do not post again asking why.  However, if days go by and your song review thread falls down the list while others have been reviewed, feel free to bump the thread.

IMPORTANT if your song isn't being reviewed and - coincidentally - you're not offering reviews of other people's work, you lose the right to bump. Your thread may be closed or deleted. You have been warned!

Have fun!  If you have any questions about the reviewing process, please feel free to contact myself or one of the moderators.
