A happy song for a change
It's inspired by a pub about 4 miles from me so I normally drive
so while i enjoy a few pints, it's funny how two sober people can really connect
when surrounded by a blur... so to speak
the song takes place over one night

I'm terrible at explaining so I just hope you enjoy

Backseat Miracle

Hey, you shouldn't wear that dress
haven't you heard all the reputation
living in a beat town a little like this
I must confess you do look really good
if I'd have known you existed honey
I would have put on a better pair of shoes

Hey sir, take my miracle from my jeans
I was gone tomorrow but not anymore
can't leave hell without an angel with me
otherwise what's a backseat for

Finally, I can hold the nerve talking to her
must have got half way, a few times
don't you know, women can't be seen here
because when they look as pretty as you
soon the vultures will perch on your back
pound of flesh, nah I'm not like that

Hey sir, take my miracle from my jeans
I was gone tomorrow but not anymore
can't leave hell without an angel with me
otherwise what's a backseat for

Broken lamplights, flickering in the water
when did we find ourself sitting here
talking about our very different lives
call me a leather preacher or a corsa fool
we should forget the mirrors in our smiles
don't judge me and I'll never let you down

Hey sir, take my miracle from my jeans
I was gone tomorrow but not anymore
can't leave hell without an angel with me
otherwise what's a backseat for
Wild hearts... Blue jeans and white T-Shirts

I don't know if this is just me, or the layout of the song, but Im not really getting the flow of this songs, it seems a bit muddled up.

Ok, review...

I think you've captured the idea of drunk people bonding in that oddly slurred, sometimes half-argumentative way only drunk people can really well.

I have to say though the line 'take my miracle from my jeans' only puts the idea of a one night stand in my mind and I can't seem to see it as anything else (maybe it's just a teenage brain :P ) so if that's what it's meant to imply then well done, if not then oh dear.

Yeah, don`t see how this could really be turned into a song..re-write it would be my advise.

I disagree with you there. There's a clear verse/chorus/verse thing going on and the verses are pretty uniform even though no rhyme scheme is used. This is quite obviously a song, more so than a lot of things that get posted here IMO

yes there is a verse chorus structure,,but it makes no sense.

What does this mean to you?
Line 2 ,  " i was gone tomorrow"  ..past and future tense, not correct is it.

Yeah but it still makes sense. It's clear that it means 'I would have left tomorrow, but now I won't'.

The slight crypticism in the lyrics is a good thing, it gets the listener to invest in the song and its message and when they figure it out there's a big emotional payoff for them. It would be plain boring if everything was stated plainly.

If we're going to get nitpicky on grammar we might as well pull up every instance of 'ain't no...' and so forth. Music isn't always about grammatical perfection. Hell, most of the lines in that song are minor sentences. Lyrics are about the message, whether it's a message worth sending and how that sending is done is what we review.

It needs re-doing...if this was pitched at a band or publisher..it would be rejected, "take my miracle from my jeans"..whats that all about, unless it`s innuendo of some sort.

I`m not saying it`s bad or structurally wrong ,but not finished properly.........too many lyrics on here get the thumbs up when there not deserving of it,and in the end the writer profits not.

I used to send lyrics to a lady who as a record deal and she used to pull me up all the time......it`s made me a better lyricist .
