It may be a fact of life to love
It may be a fact to rise above
So why take the souls of so many lost hopes
It may be a fact of life to cope

So many cries
For the taking
The tired cold eyes
Should be waking
For no better you should be
And how can you steal another’s dream

It may be a fact to wonder why
For who in this world shall live or die
And it can leave such a confused mind
Who has the right to decide

So many die
Because of the willing
Confused minds
Are they killing
For as doubtful as you may be
Are you able to take another’s dream

In this world of mortal minds
Who has the right to decide

A fact of life
A fact of life
The gift of life

Hmmm. I can't quite crack the message, though granted I haven't read too far into it just yet. I like the wording and the way things are spun multiple ways to give slightly different meanings. It both accepts things that are 'facts of life' and, to some extent, scorns those that don't but the whole way through it's quite dark and gritty so instead of saying 'it's not that bad' it's saying 'it is that bad bu just deal with it'.

It's also got quite a clear structure so I'd say fitting it to music should be no challenge.

Thank you very much for the response.... There is an undertone message to this piece which I have a melody for.... I don't want to say what it is.... But it is a something that happens everyday when people make decisions that will change their lives forever... Once you get it... You can understand every line.... Thanx again....
