Fantastic writer. Listen to him with an open mind and don't judge him for his tabloid escapades.

Anyone here like him??

I've heard bits and bobs I found interesting, but never found it interesting enough to actively seek out more ear fodder from him.

Anything in particular I should go for?

Well the album 'Up The Bracket' with his band The Libertines is his classic album. Certainly in the top 10 best albums of the 2000's. Their second album is also pretty good. And his recent solo album demonstrates his writing skills.

This is a top tune

I recently fell in love with pete doherty after seeing him live at the Hop Farm Festival. I love his current acoustic versions of all his libertines and babyshambles classics. His solo album 'Grace/Wastlands' has some great songs on it like 'arcady' and 'last of the english roses' check them out if you can.

Some great clips of pete solo acoustic:

Hmmm, I've listened to the three tracks suggested, and I can categorically say, I was prepared to give him a chance, but I can't stand him now (groan!)

That's a bit strong actually, but I couldn't resist the pun. Not my cup of tea to be honest :)

I personally really like the poetic elements in dohorty's music and the edge playing style and the acoustic stuff too . lifestyle choices of the stars is a sometimes detramental thing with regard to them being role models but the music is the important element and so it shall remain for me
try music when the lights go out by the libertines
and if you still cant get to grips with it dont know what to suggest lol
