Hi Guys

I'm totally new here, as I am almost new to songwriting as well. I'm doing a school project for the final thesis of my conservatory studies in Denmark. Now along with these four songs I wrote, I had to get some lyrics in there. I feel very comfortable composing chords, melodies and larger arrangements, but when it comes to the lyrics, I'm a long way out of my comfort zone. But anyway, I had to give it a try. I would be nice to get some feedback. You can comment on whatever you see and hear, but mostly I'm interested in how the language works. Since my mothertongue is not English, there might be some direct translations and stuff, that would be nice to clear up. Thanks for any help and feedback!

’By the Pond’

Everything around her
Is burnt by the sun
As she walk past the water
The skies in the shadow

All the clouds are folding
Their shroud around him now
As he drowns in the water
Hearts are out of order

The feet
Walking west
Walking East

All the friends will tell him
to forget about it now
as he walks towards the sunray
lighting up the gateway

And conscience will tell her
to think about him now
she walks towards the cloudy
scenery so deadly

The feet
are walking west
walking east

And spring will turn against them
the summer will be cruel
and the fall will feel much harder
Cause no one's there to bother

Come winter they'll return to
That corner by the pond
Where the sun is always burning
Everything around them

And the feet
walking east
walking west
repeats...

There are one or two lines that you have to read twice but it`s not bad. When it comes to poetry .it`s very subjective as to  what you see in it...i`ve done a couple myself in the past....

As I read the first verse I expected something quite generic and I was pleasantly surprised by what followed! I think you have a great piece here that dabbles well with metaphor striking a perfect balance between image, implication and information. Outstanding work!
