This is fun....I probably should have made it a "little" longer!

Jack the cat (to the dogs)

This is the story of a cat named Jack
he left his home and he ain't going back
he said he'd wander to the end of the land
and swim through the ocean til he reaches the land

said he's build a castle make it big as a barn
this clever old cat won't come to no harm
sand may not be sturdy but its battered old rocks
come on jack the cat you can't go to the dogs

I really liked this! Would be a fun little palette cleanser track on an album between bigger productions

The line:

sand may not be sturdy but its battered old rocks

..made me think, as I thought you were being poignant. Alas, I can't really see any meaning with the current phrasing. Stood out, regardless  :)

That line is my favourite bit!  - That something as malleable as sand was once solid as a rock but crumbled by time.  Bit like me really ...
Anyhow, musically it's very 'Hit The Road Jack' but it doesn't really matter - it's fun, nicely sung and recorded.
The words seem a bit crammed in, so maybe it would be better a tad slower. Losing a syllable by replacing 'wander' with 'walk' or 'go' would help too.
Aaaah - I'm being pedantic - but one notices these things. It's very good.

Youth & enthusiasm are no match for age and treachery.

Ha ha, like it! Bit of an Angie feel to this.
'sand may not be sturdy but its battered old rocks' personally i love that line.
Very well produced as well and i like the cheeky vocals. Could of extended it a bit with another ooh ooh bit?

wow the shortest song weve had entered in the competition so far i think! well done!

it was like a little sketch with a guitar instead of a pencil & it was very pleasant but i think if the lyric had actualy told a little story i would be saying this is great instead :)
Tell me Im wonderful & I ll be nice to you :)

Pretty cool, although apart from the lyrics not so original. That chord progression is extremely well used and battered since ever since 'Hit the road Jack' and probably before...it would take some pretty amazing production/writing to take it to new places.
Lyrics are cool and fun

Hit the road Jack - the cat. Loved it - you make this song writing mallarky seem so simple. BTB
not really good at anything - but as long as I am breathing I will keep on trying

Like this very much! I just wish this would have been better! I see a full story ready to develop from this, the adventures of Jack the cat! jaja!
