Well, heres my entry. This was recorded back in december-ish time. Would've loved to record a new one but writing a thesis means I dont have the time to record anything at the moment :D ad I've never put this up.
It goes a liiitttle over the limit  :-[ apologies!!

Lyrics:
And you would live, in the darkest corner
Your memories all lost at sea
And you would die, an unknown pauper
And like the autumn fade away
Though you could stay with me

And though our eyes, are slightly swollen
We are but bruised and will come through
And live our days, a pair of paupers
And like the summer in full bloom
I would live with you

Wow! The way the vocals work with the guitar... fantastic singing. Great song.

Love it RS

Your songs always take me away to another place - you are very talented my friend - if a little too clever sometimes :D

Some really nice changes in there

But it's understated and beautiful and I could listen to this all day

I agree with all the posts so far - it is beautiful - puts me mind of Fairport’s finest times when Sandy Denny was lead vocals. Lovely. BTB
not really good at anything - but as long as I am breathing I will keep on trying

Beautiful all round as always ramsy.

The final line is almost a quaint little nod to "in the bleak midwinter". The stanzas in that song end on a similar turn around. Intentional or not, I like it  ;D

Vocal is fragile and good for it. All round thumbs up :)

fun song! ;D

i read the title as a pair of slippers & expected some dave swarbrick type jig!

no seriously what a corker...absolutley lovely ...so gentle it made me scared to breathe in case i broke it
talking of breathing i was surprised you left the breath at the start?
i like d the way the 2nd voice was introduced
Tell me Im wonderful & I ll be nice to you :)

Lol...a little too clever in songwriting or just for being an arse on the forum?  ;D

thanks for the replies!

James; excellent spot for in the bleak midwinter! It is my favourite carol...it seems so heartbreaking and christmassy at the same time, I dont know how it is possible, but what I really love about it is the last line in each verse; 'water like a stone', 'long long ago' etc and the 2 chords that go with it. Ive always wanted to put those 2 chords in a song (its a very normal 4th to 5th chord change before going back to the 1st - e.g F to G, but the 4th has a 6th note in it. E.g F with a D)..and I snuck them in here. In a different key though I guess.

The breath at the start was a fluke...the lead vocal and guitar were done in 1 take and for some reason Im always holding my breath for a few seconds when playing guitar  ;D the singer thought it added to the intimacy so I left it in

Ha. Do I win ten points for griffindor?  8)

Yup. Love that carol. Although silent night trumps it for me I recon. Haunting if sung in a certain way. I sing it to my baby nephew at bed time. I might be messing with his head but oh well!

Beautiful mate :)

Had me closing my eyes and swaying gently
There are holes in the sky where the rain gets in  , but they're ever so small, that's why rain is thin.

Nicely recorded. Everything is very clear.  It's all extremely well played but for me, your songs tend to sound too similar.  I'd like to hear more variation in your work.

Best wishes

This is nice and soothing! I think a little in the best tradition of irish music which I love, nice work!
Now the light is dimming, but we're glowing from within. We are shiny.
