Hi James,

I too am getting the Lennon vibe.  You've used an interesting theme for your lyric.  I'd echo previous thoughts about the drums being a little to busy in places.  This is melodic and the production excellent.  Well done.

Best wishes

Paul

so many songs on here lately i missed this one!

no banging defrosted turkeys on this one but the drumming did sound a bit of a mismatch
& it was ok but i couldnt realy get excited about it ....well used chords & plodding beat made it sound a bit ordinary
the lyrics were good & topical & outshone the music
i much preferred your last song....sorry! :)
Tell me Im wonderful & I ll be nice to you :)

Hey man

Yeh I like this.... lyrically its not my thing...but you pulled it off well

its kinda clever the retro feel of the recording juxtaposed with the super modern lyrics

Cool as.

Thanks for all the comments guys  ;D

I had no idea this song, lyrics especially, would be so polarizing! Some preferring the words to the music, others the exact other way around! Interesting....

Schavuitje wins the oddest-but-funniest review comment award for this thread I think. Ouch!

Obviously  well produced etc, but when i ask myself
"would i ever play it again?"......... sorry but no.  :-[
sounds like something out of grease, not my cuppa tea.
to me a good song is one that i would actually put on a disc and play in the car , something i would listen to over and over.
I wanted to be a hippy....but my mum wouldn't let me !!

Haha I just read what you wrote and looked back through the posts and I can't believe I haven't
reviewed it already. I thought I had :)

Anyway, just had another listen. The procuction is great as far as I can hear although I do think the drums
spoil it a bit. A bit too busy in places and not really nailed very well.
I do have to say that for me the vocals were weak too. Too soft and breathy and clean. Kinda like a man
in a business suit, perfectly manicured and singin da blues.
I enjoyed listening to the song as a whole though for a while and then seemed to get bored, it just felt like it was good... but then it
was going on for too long.
Everything is well polished though  :)
