@Wicked Deeds Great stuff. I’ll make some notes about my Zoom setup and post before we get a Zoom session going

Of course, if it was any easier for anyone, it might be as well just to record the performance live in advance and make sure you’re happy with the playing/singing/levels etc and then post it on a video hosting service (YouTube for example) then just share the video here when the time comes…that would take away some of the potential horror of a live performance…or some of the fun, depending on your point of view 😀

Yes, I think there are quite a few of us who write while we are recording and when I first started playing live again I realised that I could hardly play any of my songs all the way through as I'd never done it before. Starting to play at open mics has been great as a) I have to learn the songs, and b) I have to strip away all of the production stuff and do a vocals and solo guitar version. I try and do one new song that I've never played live before at each open mic. I think @PaulAds idea of a video too is cool, just whatever you are comfortable with.

I'm so up for this now.  I need to rehearse half a dozen numbers but it will come back quickly.

I'm looking forward to seeing forum members perform whether it is live or a live recording.  Both are good ideas.

@seriousfun, I do recall that you once played one or two live songs.  It would be great to see and hear you around this place again.

@Wicked Deeds I just tested out Zoom recording of audio using my webcam

Here....

Nice performance - so good in fact it seemed to distort reality in a very early 80's Doctor Who style - P. Davison would be proud.

The CCB are impossible to get together in 1 room together with their contrasting schedules, so sadly all I can do is wish you all great luck and joy with this.

Well, this morning, I worked out the chords to a whole song called "I Had To Go".  I'll now practice submitting this to memory ready for my live/recorded performance or both.  Where did I find the space to store all of those lyrics when I used to perform live?  chords, picking, lyrics all jostling for brain power.  Melodies are the easy part.  :P

It's quite a beautiful song and has never been played before in a live setting.

I'm still very much up for this and would encourage others to take part also.

I sometimes do open mics
I could video record them and put those up?
It's either this or that, then again it might be the other.
