Have you ever thought...I want to leave you but I love you too much to see you with somebody else so I just can't, has it ever took so much from you that you couldn't even sleep?

The casual blow from the window reminds me of you
It reminds me that like the wind, you were just passing through
The window frame stands still just like time
Time's there to remind me that you were never mine
The reflection in the mirror is there to remind me of who I am
I trace the lines on my wrist
I made a line for each time we kissed
Nothing could ever make this right
It's funny cause its raining right now
And I feel the same as the weather

I don't want to die
But I don't wanna live today
It's been that way for a while
But giving up has never been my style
I'm not the same
Cause nothing seems to fit the frame
Apart from you
Nothing will ever change

I'm awake in the morning
But I need a reason to get out of my bed
You pulled me at my seams which seemed to work in your head
But that doesn't even work anymore
I swear I saw you today
I touched your hair
You told me that you still  care
You kissed me again
Then I pushed you away
I felt a shade of blue
 I knew it wasn't you
You were wearing that dress
I tried to hold back all those words ripping through my chest

I don't want to die
But I don't wanna live today
It's been that way for a while
But giving up has never been my style
I'm not the same
Cause nothing seems to fit the frame
Apart from you
Nothing will ever change

I don't want to die
But I don't wanna live today
It's been that way for a while
But giving up has never been my style
I'm not the same
Cause nothing seems to fit the frame
Apart from you
Nothing will ever change

It won't be the same without you
What if we both just smiled at once?

Hey Sellon

I often struggle reading your songs because the structure is all over the place. It feels like the concepts of rhyming and syllabic consistency were thrown in a blender. Because of this I find it hard to view your lyrics as lyrics to songs.

Now of course none of this means they don't wok in a song. I have no idea where the emphases lie in each line and how fast certain things are sung so the above may be moot.

That aside, I found this song to be of something of a lower standard to the rest of your work. The way of wording things is just as fantastic and all that but I find the subject matter cliched. In fact, the only time I think I've seen a break-up story done through music recently was in the Glasvegas album Euphoric /// Heartbreak \\\ where they broke the whole thing down across the album, some songs dealing with bigger pictures and some going down into single emotions and picking the apart.

I guess my point there is that it's difficult to write a break-up piece that comes across as original. In that sense, don't think this review is saying anything against your writing skill.

Incredibly powerful!
Quite story like, though I think the best part of it is easily the first verse, as to the way it's worded and such.
It quite reminds me of a Radiohead song, very reflective and quite wordy.

I like it, and having just joined this site about 5 minutes ago, this being the first I read, people are looking pretty talented already. :D

Corsair: hahah yes, but there's worse, a lot of bands are like this, ; Meet Me In St.Louis and Blakfish are an example, all over the place, but still amazing, and eh, well, i write about things happening in my life at the time, and this is what's happening right now, so as things change so does what I write about, so probably won't see too many songs like this because my relationships last a long time...usually...
But thanks man, appreciate it, especially coming from someone as talented as you.

Kafla: thanks man, I thought that line was pretty sweet too

Laura : thanks, I try make them meaningful as possible, so that means a lot

Nooms: yep, this one is more lyrical just like you wanted ( I think?)

Foxbite: well thanks man, I appreciate it, I think the first verse is best too actually, and welcome to the forum man.

Hi Sellon,

I thoroughly enjoyed reading your lyrics.  Very powerful imagery. I think that you are a fine writer and agree with Kafla about the tremendous potential that you have!
