Hi Tone,

Well here's me

I'm 28 and been playing music on one instrument or another for the last 20 years or so.
I played all sorts from classical to metal with a few different orchestras and bands, but
now I don't really have the urge to perform anymore I've decided to turn towards composition
and production. I'm always struggled with the lyrical side of things when it comes to writing
for myself and hope to pick up a few tips from you folks.

I'm into allsorts of music so I try to turn my hand to all styles.

Welcome to the forum mate.  I'm the other way from you.  I find lyrics easier than writintg music!

I'll get a line or phrase come to mind that sounds great, but as soon as I try to build on it I'm hit with the dreaded block

That sounds like me lately.  I usually come up with a phrase or couplet that serves as teh basis for my songs but like you, I sometimes struggle to write the rest.  Some days it comes easy, other days, not so much!
