Good morning.

I think this is the quickest write to finished production I have ever done. This song did not exist a week ago and now it is all done with a music video!!

I think the reason it was so quick was that the arrangement was in my head when I was playing through on an acoustic, so recording it was a doddle. Luckily, my friend Steve had some time to record the drums and we both shot the music video on Sunday.

Do you know (do you know)
How the day is gonna go
Do dream of a day
When a storm will come and blow the clouds away
Do you dare (do you dare)
Take a chance and don't be scared
And you need to be brave
You've got to live life like its your last day

Hiding in the shadows
In the corner of your mind
There's a certain feeling that you've always been left behind
Deep beneath the surface
There's a part of you that hides
Hiding from reality but you should let it shine

Do you know (do you know)
How the day is gonna go
Do dream of a day
When a storm will come and blow the clouds away
Do you dare (do you dare)
Take a chance and don't be scared
And you need to be brave
You've got to live life like its your last day

Gotta hand onto the meaning
Of what you wanna be
Life is not for amateurs
Its such a mystery
Gotta hang onto the reason
Of what you're gonna do
Let it out or let it in
It's all because of you

Pay your debts
Please be kind
Leave your worries at the door

Leave your worries at the door
You don't need them anymore

Do you know (do you know)
How the day is gonna go
Do dream of a day
When a storm will come and blow the clouds away
Do you dare (do you dare)
Take a chance and don't be scared
And you need to be brave
You've got to live life like its your last day

thank you @moraamarolaloba

Yes. I wrote it on Thursday and started recording it in the evening. Steve recorded the drums on Saturday. We recorded the video footage on Sunday and it was mixed by late Tuesday :)

Ha Ha!

I've honestly been singing this bastard thing all week :)

To me, it's a perfect piece of pop music and I really love it.

There is more depth to some stuff posted on here...and I'm a huge fan of those who can dredge that up...and I really, as I hope you all know, love them for it...and that's perhaps where I'm more at home...but I don't think I've ever heard a better pop song here.

@Nick Ryder

This takes the biscuit...there are hundreds of bands/musicians/singers that have hit the big time and never written anything as good as this.

The tragedy is that you might need to have lost some limbs in a pretend terrorist attack, been invaded by Russia or had your grandma give birth to a dolphin or something to get this song the attention it merits.

It feels great when you turn around an idea quickly! It's your usual distinctive style, and very catchy. Great, positive lyrics, of which I will now take heed on this dull Saturday morning and get doing the things that make life worth living (getting Cakewalk fired up :) )

Hi @PaulAds

The things I like about you are your unique way with words, and your honesty. And to this end, I feel blown away by your comments. More so because I know you mean what you say and they're not sugar coated.

Interestingly, I posted this on my Facebook page last night and its had a tremendous response on there, I think even my wife liked it..... so we might be onto something here :)

Thanks again. Really appreciated.

Thanks, @Bankie

That's great. What are you recording? Do you have a project on the go or is it random songs?

I don't want to hijack your song thread (too much :) ) but I'm working on multiple songs at the same time. I'm reworking songs written and recorded in the 90s for a concept album I completed when I had rubbish kit and processing power was restrictive. It has been an amazing learning process, which was unexpected, and I'll write about it once it's all ready. I have the coming week off work to progress it. I have one song just about done, and 2 more in very advanced stages.

Thank you, @subvibe

The video was a lot of fun to make and I learnt a lot in the process, which has given me an appetite to make more video's :)
