Old newbie

Hello! Call me Theresa. I am new to music, started singing and playing acoustic guitar - by myself - almost an year ago, and been trying to write music for a few months now.
I like all kinds of music, but punk is my favorite. I do like to write punk music one day, as in songs for a band of instruments, but for now it is just me singing and my acoustic guitar until I learn the basics. Singing is what I like the most so my guitar playing is secondary to it.
I wanted to hold off before joining a community, because my skills aren't nearly close to good enough to be shown to other people, but I am kind of stuck where I am at so I came here looking for some help.
