'All My Fault' was written about seven years ago about the dissolution of my second marriage.  It's called 'All My Fault' because she used to always say that it was always my fault that we fought so much, yet it seemed to be something she relished in doing with me.  The song was recorded in my apartment's living room after the divorce was final.

Instrumentation is pretty bare, just guitar, bass, and programmed drums.  Hope you guys enjoy!  8)

ALL MY FAULT

I guess we've had our fun
but it seems our fun is over now
and that's all right
it's all right
Time for us to move along and after all is said and done...
and we'll be all right
it's all right

Tell me something that's sure to break my heart
Tell me something that'll pull us apart
'cause it's my fault
It's all my fault

Here we go again
can't seem to make amends, but that’s all right
and it’s all right
I've tried as hard as I can to keep up with impossible demands
but it’s all right
it’s all right

Tell me something that's good for the soul
Because we know it's all about control
and it's all my fault
it's all my fault

I guess it's over now
your honesty has all run out but that’s all right
it’s all right
I just can't seem to see
how the hell you can make believe that it's all right
it’s all right
Tell me something that's sure to break my heart
Tell me something that'll pull us apart
'cause it's my fault
It's all my fault

I enjoyed that.  Good tune, great vocal and guitar too.  If you were recording that today you would no doubt make the drums sound more natural and have more variety in them but, to me, that’s all I’d change.  I’d bet you sound good live.

Cheers - John.

Thanks, John.  That was done with Cakewalk and I want to say EZ Drummer.  If done today, I would definitely use Reaper and Studio Drummer on it.  The grid mapping on Reaper is incredible!

One day I do hope to play that song live with a  band somewhere...

A surprisingly upbeat song about a delicate situation. I like the stripped back arrangement. It drives along nicely with nice rhythm guitars. A solo of some sort might have been good. I quite like the drum sound. I think the song could have done with a shift in style somewhere along the way. I enjoyed listening. A good track. :)

Hey man
sounds like you've been influenced by Tom Petty
Good way to approach she's gone and gone to hell
Good job

I can see a country band playing this with maybe three vocalists
singing  the chorus and maybe another couple of guitars. Enjoyed it.

Nice to meet Ya @Cj Lovett I think the instrumentation works really well. I got a "Cars" feeling - There's a bit of a buzz in the background though. I guess if you were to re-record it you would sort that out. I see that you've moved to Reaper too - Great choice, I've been using it for around 8 years now and still so much to learn !! Welcome to the forum and hope that you get a lot out of being here :)

Thanks for the positive feedback @pompeyjazz.  I'm still pretty proud of the recording and the song.  Going to put some new stuff on here shortly if I can find a lead guitarist who plays better lead than I do!
