I'm working on a new song for an engagement proposal video. It will be a beach scene. I'm struggling with the words and would appreciate some suggestions. I am aware that I have too many unrelated metaphors going on so far. It should have a romantic feel, of course. It is about two older people who have rediscovered each other after half a century apart. Don't hold back--I have thick skin and I want this to be good, so tell me what you really think along with how to fix what can be improved.

SECOND CHANCE

Verse 1
Near the water here we stand holding on where waves meet sand
Seasoned souls, our lives entwined, new from old, transcending time
Verse 2
Love began so long ago, somehow it was lost; we didn’t know
Someday we would love again though we were sure we’d seen the end

Chorus
Love reborn, so sweetly wraps us in its dance
Dreams renewed, they sweep us to our second chance

Verse 3
Whispered secrets in the waves, warmth of sand, our love engraved
Always different and the same, warm emotions, burning flame

Chorus
Love reborn, so sweetly wraps us in its dance
Dreams renewed, they sweep us to our second chance

Bridge
Through time and tide we stand as one, a symphony composed of love
Love stayed alive throughout the years, encouraged us to dry our tears

Chorus
Love reborn, so sweetly wraps us in its dance
Dreams renewed, they sweep us to our second chance
