How to record remotely with musicians?

Hey guys, would love to hear how you guys have gone about recording remotely with musicians?

I've usually done it by sending mp3's of individual tracks back and forth. Wav files are better but take more time/bandwidth. Helps if both/all use the same DAW - that way whole project files can be shared and mixing can be a two-way thing. It can be done from within some DAWs including Cubase which I use, though I've never done it that way. :)

I use mp3 files for rough drafts and WAV files for final products. MP3 files can be emailed. WAV files can be shared through Dropbox, Google Drive, and a variety of other places.
