I've finally finished another old song of mine (i think). It's one of my 'better' songs.
The outro originally was gonna be a long fade BUT... what can i say?... i like the way it grooves, so there's no fade out.
ENJOY!

I look forward to your feedback (good or bad).

Lyrics

Over worked
Under paid
I cannot take another day without you by my side
I need you
Outta luck
Outta time
I cannot find another mind like mine
and I need someone like you

And I need you to know
My heart is on the low low low
And I need you to see that you and me will be

Been hung up
out to dry
but I can't find a reason why I'm alone in my life
I need you

And I need you to know
My heart is on the low low low
And I need you to see that you and me will be

Gone are the days when I would smile
wish I could get away for a while
but what is this thing
you're doing to me
my heart is beating
I cannot breath
Tell me you feel it
and we'll be

And I need you to know
My heart is on the low low low
And I need you to see that you and me will be
And I need you to see that you and me will be

Shorter version

Good vocal sound, like the falsetto bits, track felt like it could be on the radio easy, was that a xylophone? bit faster maybe and it doesnt need the guitar bit that appears at around 4.10...didn't get why that was there ???
otherwise a very cool track. 8)

@shadowfax Thanks for the comment. Glad you liked it.
Years ago, i made a 'single version' and an 'album version'. And then i mashed the best of both together to get this version. I know it's long and the end bit sounds like a bit of an add on, but the single version always sounded like it ended abruptly (it didn't have the ending).
The ending has always been there (not an add on) and I find it hard to hear it without these days. I guess it could be a lot shorter... but i like the groove.

p.s. I agree and i've made it faster.

You've been coming up with some high quality stuff recently @dinnerwithgreedo Love those vocals and what a superb melody. Great mixture of instruments and the acoustic guitar sound is fabulous, complimented by that wonderfully raunchy electric. Another fab song from you dude  :)

Yo DWG.

There's a gentle 'Muse' innocence in the opening part, just before it kicks up a notch.

Great melodic content and very well sung with obvious passion.

I'm kinda with Kev in that the latter stages sound a bit tacked on and the song would be better shorter.

Hi Greedo,

I seem to remember this from quite a long time ago. But then I've crested the hill and am on the downward slope towards a 100 - so I may well be wrong.

Anyway, sounds great. Nice musical shifts within the song.
Loving the little vocal flourishes.
Cool guitars and top bass sound and playing.

Hi I am Irwin, Great song in my opinion for there is nothing I can find to complain about, (Maybe dated) but pleasant to to my ear in this modern times. I did enjoy listening to this song.

This is perfect retro-pop. Melodic and catchy as heck. Bass and guitars sounding really good. Lyrics and riff are simple but effective.
I would say be bold and make it perfect 3 minute song. The vibey bit at the end is cool but (for me) like a rugby scrum - exciting for those that are in it but not that interesting for the spectators.
Just my opinion of course - but I think you already knew! ;-)

Okay okay okay.... seems like the end bit is a bit hit or miss. So... here's the short version. It obviously removes the outro but also the middle bridge.

Thank you to all that have commented. I appreciate all feedback.

When you are listening to the melody, you get the feeling that two songs with different character have been connected with each other with a separate outro.
The main melody is a light pop in the 80s style, and the chorus sounds like another song with a rock sound and a different character.
Outro sounds separate from the whole melody, as if taken from third song.
Unique composition.

Hey @dinnerwithgreedo , I really like this.  The vibes that open it, over that neat chord progression.  The rocker guitar is a surprise when it turns up.  And I loved the vocal melody and delivery.  I'm making too many comparisons tonight but I have to mention the Bluetones here - this is very tuneful, as in their vein (checkout 'Slight Return' or 'If' if you don't know em).  Personally I enjoyed the segway into the outro, although agree it is probably the 12" extended edition.  Oh, and extra praise due for cutting up the Bowie album cover for your Soundcloud image.  Well done on delivery a massive earworm here.  I would download this if Soundcloud would let me.
It's all too beautiful.

Thank you all so much for your comments. I made changes because of your feedback (hence the two versions). i think i'm prefering the shorter version now! But i do miss the ending. Of well.... they both exist now.

I preferred the shorter version :-)
Great vocals (personally I'd bring them up a tad in the mix), progressions that are smooth to the ears, a good "umph" when it gets going, yep this totally work for me.
Still has a "pop" feel to it without going into "bubble gum" territory :-)
