Hello! :) I finally released my new song today! It's been a while... I wanted to create something different in sound design. As you know, I often use bass in choruses, but in this song I decided to not use it. I'm curious what you think about it :) Thank you so much in advance for your answers!  :D

Lyrics:

I hear that
Something, something's coming
Don't you see it's scatting?
Listen quietly
(Quietly)
The voice calls
And no reason for running
I know you're, darling, cunning
There's no time to hide

Feels so grueling
Waiting for things to appear
Will I ever stop worrying?
I'm sleeping in
All the good's passing by
Wish I'd see it again
Wondering, where's the eye
That keeps watching me?

Feels so grueling
Waiting for things to appear
Will I ever stop worrying?
I'm sleeping in
All the good's passing by
Wish I'd see it again
Wondering, where's the eye
That keeps watching me?

Escape it
Can I escape it?
I think the thing goes crazy
There's no sign of help
(Mm-mm)
(Mm-mm-mm)

The bridge is crashing
You can't reach it
I see a lot of glitches
Reality is fake

Feels so grueling
Waiting for things to appear
Will I ever stop worrying?
I'm sleeping in
All the good's passing by
Wish I'd see it again
Wondering, where's the eye
That keeps watching me?

Feels so grueling
Waiting for things to appear
Will I ever stop worrying?
I'm sleeping in
All the good's passing by
Wish I'd see it again
Wondering, where's the eye
That keeps watching me?

Feels so grueling
Waiting for things to appear
Will I ever stop worrying?
I'm sleeping in
All the good's passing by
Wish I'd see it again
Wondering, where's the eye
That keeps watching me?

(Where's the eye?)
(Where's the eye?)
(Where's the eye?)
(Where's the eye?)

Hola @Maya Clars
The letter that can be seen as obsessive, a circle. vicious that surrounds you...
I love how the vocals sound and the chorus repeat is catchy.
I really liked it, it's feminine, delicate, very pretty.

Stay well

Hi @Maya Clars - this is so catchy and I love the idea of the lyric - the eye…. Fab!

I always love your songs. This might be my favourite yet. It’s very contemporary and your lovely accent adds something special to your sound. Actually autocorrect just made ‘spectral’ out of ‘special’ and I think I might agree with that!

Well done!!

Another awesome track @Maya Clars . Possibly my favourite so far too. It's the vocals that make this work so well. You deserve success! Your material is way better than a lot of stuff I hear these days. Keep em comin' :)

Very well produced and your vocals are both well sung and arranged with subtle effects. Classy synths. I like alot.

Hi @Maya Clars Yep, this one is excellent. I don't think that you needed the bass. It's really effective as it is. Very clever vocal work and beautifully textured with some fabulous synth sounds. I think that this is probably the best that I've heard from you but everything that you release is quality  :)

Very chill. Like the harmonies and what you've done with the vocals.
Remember.... it's just my opinion. It doesn't make me right. Although i probably am ;)

Hello, well this is a cracking little pop song, it's catchy, it's really well mastered and I think it's fine having no bass in the chorus if anything it makes it pop out more. great job on this one!

Hi Maya,

Nice song.
Vocal has a lot of musicality - which works well against the sparse backdrop.
Simple but effective.

Hello Maya,

You are a very talented writer for sure!  All of the elements for an exceptional song are here. At times, I think the multiple vocals are a little too busy, though they have been recorded so well. I'm an old school songwriter, looking for melody and smart lyrics. Melody is definitely here but try to let it breath without overcrowding (my opinion of course) . There are some great musical motifs which serve the song well, breaking up the different sections. You have a super voice, filled with great charm. Lyrically, you have created a rather claustrophobic mood which, I guess has been exactly your intention. As a writer you are on such a wonderful trajectory and I fully expect you to soar.  Writing is a lifetime and rewarding  gig and I expect to hear further, astounding progression as you continue to develop your already exceptional talent.

Hey Maya, cool work.  For me the dubby, synthy soundscape in the background was the star feature.  Also the relative simplicity of the vocals on top of that - nothing felt too 'crowded' production wise so your vocals could shine through.  The video was oddly captivating too - clever work with a single image.
It's all too beautiful.
