Hi All, Just back from a bit of a break and will be catching up with some forum reviews over the next few days  :)

Here's my latest composition, more of a laid back soul vibe I guess - Hope that you enjoy the listen

Cheers - John

V1

Let's take a long look at the world
Pin your colours to something absurd
More fake shit from another spin
Careful now, they've pulled you in

PC

Now I've lost the track of time
And I'm never going to find
All the answers that you cannot see

Ch

Oh oh – That ain't true
Do you swallow everything they say to you ?
Go – Live your life, be true
Oh oh – Cos you know that that ain't true

V2

Do you feel the weight of the world
Everything is warped it's so absurd
They've really got you in a wrap
Take it in and swallow the crap

PC

Now you know it's getting late
No time to hesitate
And the sands of time are sinking me

Ch

Oh oh – That ain't true
Do you swallow everything they say to you ?
Go – Live your life, be true
Oh oh – Cos you know that that ain't true

Not quite sure how you manage to produce soooo many songs. And keep the quality up too.

But of a crooner this (although the vocal effect is not croonery but may I say I love it!!).

Smooth and soothing. Another cracker @pompeyjazz ! Love it!!

Hola @pompeyjazz

The holidays have been very good for you from what I see...
I really liked your song. You say it's relaxed but the lyrics are deep, hard although the arrangement makes it soft. Very good production, you have a style and a way of doing things that worked very well.

Stay well

This sounds freakin awesome John!  I really like the backing track... those BIG synth sounds, and especially that squeaky synth line under the choruses.  And I really like the vocals too.  It's quite unusual too.  Epic!  Even by your standards.  Modern techno-soul.
It's all too beautiful.

Lovely soundscape here John. The intro keys sound ace and the vocal sound that you've captured is amazing. It's a thoroughly engaging song, bubbling away to a cutting edge production!

Awesome track John. Lovely arrangement, but it's the vocal/lyrics that does it for me on this one. No crits at all. A great listen :)

Enjoyed this one, Pomps. Great, simple lyrics to go with a wonderfully chill tune.

Some lovely unexpected chord progressions on this @pompeyjazz . Like this a lot. The excellent production is a given with you Mr Pomps but this has a catchy chorus line which will fill my empty head for the next week or so. Well done John. :)

Definite soul vibe! I'd like to hear a 70's version (if you know what i mean).
Remember.... it's just my opinion. It doesn't make me right. Although i probably am ;)

Yo pomps.

Love the world weary cynicism in both the music and lyrics. Right up my old jaded street!

You are the master of many and varied sounds, brother John.

Love it.

Hi John,

You've lost none of the magic since my last visit.
Always trying new things - new styles, new sounds.
It's an interesting brew - hard to try and tie down to an era. At times 80s maybe, but tinged with a more modern sound.

Hi my name is Irwin, I wouldn't say that I like this song but what I'll say is I like the performance.

You sing with confidence and that's a good thing.

Interesting deep filling bass, catchy melody.  I liked the arrangement of 2:16 and beyond.
The sound is stylish and pleasant. I liked it very much.
