This is a tune inspired by all of the space programs that I've followed since being a child, and being both in awe of, and confused by anybody that is brave enough to leave this planet.
It's also a little nod to Buzz

Astronaut

Mission control
Defy gravity
No air to breathe
Satellite scene
This isn’t flying
It’s falling with style

When I grow up
I wanna be an astronaut
But I know it won’t work
Cos I’m not brave enough

Feeling strange
Orbital change
Seize the day
No monsters in the way
This isn’t flying
It’s falling with style

When I grow up
I wanna be an astronaut
But I know it won’t work
Cos I’m not brave enough

Tell me cowboy
Where did you go?
No sign of life here to be found

When I grow up
I wanna be an astronaut
But I know it won’t work
Cos I’m not brave enough

Rocket man
To Ground Control
Earthbound
Gonna touchdown on the ground
This isn’t flying
It’s falling with style

When I grow up
I wanna be an astronaut
But I know it won’t work
Cos I’m not brave enough

Great song. It has sort a 60's vibe but with a few modern twists. When I saw the lyrics I thought you might heading into David Bowie's Major Tom territory but, no, this has a style very much of it's own. I think the drums are maybe a bit too busy in places but, otherwise I think this is an excellent arrangement. I especially like the vocals. I really enjoyed this track :)

Hi there.  I like the flangey, wibbly wobbly effects in this... it is quite trippy (which fits the lyrics I think).  I'd say the same thing as Chris about the drums though... sounds like you have a drummer who's slightly too keen to show off their fills, if you know what I mean.  Sound cool lyrics - I enjoyed the little nods to Elton and Bowie, and the tension between the verse and chorus is odd and interesting (the way the verses are about being an astronaut, but the chorus says it ain't gonna happen... that's unusual and I enjoyed it).  It's another creative piece with a chill-out/psychedelic cocktail going on.  I'm getting Morcheeba as an internal reference point somehow.  Liked it!
It's all too beautiful.

I'm enjoying your recent output @Welsh Steve. Liking the slightly psychedelic vibe which gives it a 60s vibe but loads of different influences and also unpredictable and original which is great. Excellent

Thanks guys. If I'm honest, I don't have a drummer. I just use what's available to me on Cubase.
I'll have another go at it tho.

Hola @Welsh Steve

Your song has something special, the instruments sound give it something I can't describe but that I like.
Great sog and lyrics, I love the FX on your voice.

Stay well

Yo Steve.

Catchy and trip-tastic. Music and creativity were outstanding in the 60s and 70s,this would fit right in to that era.

Much enjoyed.
