I have a new song. It will come as no surprise that it’s another rocker. Nothing deep or meaningful about the lyrics – just me me playing with names and words. I was tempted to change the title to Gorilla (!!) but I’ve already done a song about Sasquatch!

Geurrilla
Words and music ©2022 Chris Price

Bianca Bonesaw Durango, she got me in a fix
Bonnie Snake Eyes Visconzi, is up to her tricks
Ruby Tequila Vacotti, she do it all for kicks

She got the look of a criminal kind
Hook me on the end of her line
She tell me that she’s in love with a guerrilla

Judy Sweet Cheeks Delaney, gave me a narcotic pill
Frenchie Firecracker Rizzo, aww she’s some kinda thrill
Maralyn Switchblade de Luca, in for the kill

She got the look of a criminal kind
Hook me on the end of her line
She tell me that she’s in love with a guerrilla

Little Puppet Calypso, man I thought I had it made
Silver Dollar Raven, she got it all in spades
Margarita Mamba, she give me mouth to mouth first aid

She got the look of a criminal kind
Hook me on the end of her line
She tell me that she’s in love with a guerrilla

More cowbell! Filthy Stones like riff and rocks along nicely. Not really my kinda thing, but full of life and energy.

Nothing very original, but done very well and I'm sure will be lapped up by lovers of the genre. Nice guitar work and very punchy throughout. Well done.

Thanks for listening and your kind words. I enjoyed writing and recording it. Not very original? Of course it isn't!! I still think it's 1972 !! ;D

Great song, Chris. Nice wordplay. I noted the Greece reference (Frenchie and Rizzo) so I was trying to see if the other names were recognisable or if that was just subconciously accidental. :P

Hey Chris, another one that just forces your foot to start tapping and your head to start bobbing.  True to its genre for sure, and lots to like about that.  I went to see the Stones last Sunday playing in Hyde Park, and could totally imagine this in their set list (with added horn players and soulful backing singers probably).  Super.
It's all too beautiful.

awesome tune Chris, I could place myself driving down a long highway in the US with the roof down slapping the side of the car with hand to the beat.

Hi Chris,

Great little retro rocker. Why rewrite the recipe book when it tastes so good?
Excellent guitar work.
Drummer does a great job. :)

Cool vocal.

A lovely Chris Price song. You do this genre so well. And the wordplay is just really fun and suggestive in a 1972 sort of way. Tight (as a tiger) and perfectly formed.

Brilliant lyrics, no nonsense melody and musical backing all serve to demonstrate a fine writer/performer going through the gears. This  sounds like a super tight, live rehearsal recording. Authentic my friend.
