A reworking of an old fashioned ballad type thingy....if you take a listen, I thank you. :)

Your the face I can't forget
your the love I've never met,
your the night I've never known,
your the reason I'm alone,
your the song I've never heard,
but i'd liketo know the words,
your the place i've never been,
your the face i've never seen,

If you never ever leave,
I would never ever know,
then everyhting woud be,
just the same,
take away the love you give,
I would lose my will to live,
no mear words coud ever say,
how I feel,

your the voice inside my head,
every single word you said,
what I'll be I'll never know,
if you ever ever go,

to love but never know,
to see but never show,
to feel but never touch,
the dream is never/not enough,

If you never ever leave,
I would never ever know,
then everyhting woud be,
just the same,
take away the love you give,
I would lose my will to live,
no mear words coud ever say,
how I feel,

Hi! a well made song. The "to love but never know"/bridge part could have a bit more build up and go straight into chorus , and the guitar solo less ambience. But that's just minor modification to my taste.

You're the master of tracks like this Kev @shadowfax Love that piano and the strings sound is superb. It's got a kinda AOR feel to it. Great build when the drums kick in for the chorus and great use of light and shade. A swayalong Glasto tip top hit pick :)

Yo Kev.

I caught this one a while back and as ever I'm always carried away on a wave of melody and emotion. The down section is achingly airy.

That full fat, deep, warm sound is welcomed by the ears every time. Dig that 'Flock of Seagulls' guitar from the 3 minute mark.

A pleasure to listen,I don't know how you maintain that level of excellence.

really well written, the song has a familiar feel to it like it really wouldn't be out of place on a Magic FM playlist or something. really professional mix, thanks for sharing that lovely ballad!

Hey Kev,

The verse sections are really satisfying; in fact the strongest element of this song. I think a greater lift is needed in the chorus section but note that your vocal is probably reaching somewhere near the highest notes of your range here. That's often a problem for most of us. There's some lovely rhythmic drumming in the latter parts of this song.

I think Wicked has hit the nail on the head - verses are great, choruses lacking a little. I would have looked to throw in a borrowed chord (a chord not found in the key you're in) and varied the melody more there. The arrangement and choice of tones is really wonderful though; in your recent PM to me, you said you just go with what sounds right, and you have obvious skill there.

I thought I'd commented on this earlier but it looks like I didn't actually post it! :P

Top notch as always. Beautiful tune and haunting lyrics. Love it.

I can only echo what's been said.  It's a really good song that could be improved with a much bigger chorus to give it a lift and introduce a little more light and shade.  Easy for me to say though I know,.  Good job!

This has all the elements of a classic 80's style ballad. I can imagine someone like Bryan Adams doing a more powerful, guitar driven arrangement of this - probably in a higher key. The production is really good, but it does need a bit more dynamics for me. Great song though. :)

Impressive big airy track this... I thought the drums in particular were really well produced and mixed - my favourite bit, especially when they return after the M8.  That swooping guitar solo line is very nice too.
It's all too beautiful.
