Hey everyone,

a couple of days ago I just published another one of my songs.

Actually it is already a few years old. I wrote it while living in Dublin between 2014 and 2019.
At that time I did not have a real goal respectively I felt lost about orientation in life.
That is what the lyrics are all about. This has changed now completely so looking back at that time and the lyrics feels a bit odd. But everyone experiences these moments in life every now and then I guess :-)

Would be nice to get some feedback including also constructive criticism.
Currently it is only on Spotify. But I will work on a lyrics video for youtube.

LYRICS: The Call

The sun is shining I need rain
I’m sleeping with lights on and when it’s dark I lie awake
The glass half empty not half full
Now I want you to stay
Tomorrow I want you to go

It’s because I know
Destiny might call
Destiny might call

Sometimes I just feel misplaced
Even when things turn out right
I am searching for new ways

It’s because I know
Destiny might call
Destiny might call

Sun is shining I need rain
I’m sleeping with lights on and when it’s dark I lie awake
The glass half empty not half full
And sometimes I don’t know
I don’t know where to go

It’s because I know
Destiny might call
It’s because I know
Destiny might call

Sun is shining I need rain
Destiny might call
Glass half empty not half full
Destiny might call
I am searching for new ways
Destiny might call
I am searching for
I am searching for

had a listen on spotify, good quality song, enjoyed the harmonies and the clapping, i just wonder why you didn't call it "Destiny Might Call"?

You got a nice country mood due to your guitar pattern and add guitar playing some licks.
I like the chord change in the M8.
Solid song!

Thanks guys. Don't know why but I just do not like to call songs by an obvious title. Somehow I always like the real title to be hidden in the Song. Maybe that's the mistake :) thanks Phil for the Country Mood comment. I love country:)

@Alex Kohlgrüber  a lovely little song! Great melody, and very catchy, got a really nice voice too, left with me with a smile!
I like the claps, but I might use them more sparingly, but when you use them increase the number of clappers - if that makes sense?
Great job anyway 👍
Sound formed in a vacuum may seem a waste of time...

Yo Alex.

The song draws me in from the off, there's an endearing aspect you capture really well. Lovely work.

I can't seem to get on with Spotify,it's difficult to get any plays worth talking about,so I seldom use it now.

Hi @Alex Kohlgrüber Getting a west coast vibe from this one. Your vocals are lovely and warm and I like the simplistic style of the arrangement. The handclaps are a great addition as are the backing vocals. It's a lovely little song which I enjoyed immensely :)

Thank you @man made material.

Yes indeed I had the same feeling with the clappers. To increase the clappers would provide a bit more variety. And the song would built up differently.
Good point :-)

Best
Alex

Thank you @Skub for the nice words.
Yes it is hard on Spotify. I think you (we) just have to continue putting material on it. Never stop.
And once you have tune that drags people there the same audience also listens to the other songs. However yes it is hard.
Also because not everybody uses Spotify.

You tube would be way easier :-)

This is a lovely little number. I was sat in the garden in the sun as I listened and it fit the vibe perfectly. I love the juxtaposition between the somewhat melancholy (but hopeful) lyrics and the upbeat music. Very beautiful backing vocals - my favourite part. Great stuff.

A nice song with a cool vocal. There's a lot of space and yet quite a few things happening. Good arrangement and a crystal clear mix. I enjoyed this :)

Yeah, really nice track.  Love the crispy clear recording of the acoustic, and also the backing vocals, and the layering of voices with the subtle guitar riff towards the end.  It has plenty of space in it too, so comes across as a very refreshing positive track (despite some of the ambiguity and darkness lurking in the lyrics... that's a good contrast).
It's all too beautiful.
