We have finished a new album that is just getting a bit of mastering magic from @cowparsleyman.  Half the tracks have been on here already but this is one that I don't know what I haven't shared it before.  When Neil and I are writing, we have a very definite tension between my liking for more raucous screamy rock and his more melodic rock preferences.  I'm never going to be a screamer but here is three minutes of punk (or as close as I'm going to get) preceded by a gentle picky intro.

The original lyrics from Neil were not really like this.  All of these words were in there but I have re-jigged them, added repetition for the chorus and hopefully given it a clear meaning.

Hope you enjoy it!

Do you wanna change things, for the better?
Stir things up, no half measures
You've only got one shot at this so you'd better make a difference
Go quietly out the door or be belligerent

There’s got to be more to life than trying to survive
Everybody needs their mojo, their inspiration drive
How to be remembered, how do you want to be
Not enough time to make your presence felt?
What will be will be!

Gotta stand up for what you believe in
Take a stand no time for just leaving

Speak up gotta let them know
You're not heading for a silent exit
Speak up gotta let them know
Speak up gotta let them know
You're not heading for a silent exit
Speak up gotta let them know
You're not heading for a silent exit
No, you're not heading for a silent exit!

There’s got to be more to you than saying you can’t decide
Being silent’s just accepting, a fact you cannot hide
Don’t just turn a blind eye, turn away your enemy
Not enough time to make a difference?
What will be will be!

Gotta stand up for what you believe in
Take a stand no time for just leaving

Speak up gotta let them know
You're not heading for a silent exit
Speak up gotta let them know
Speak up gotta let them know
You're not heading for a silent exit
Speak up gotta let them know
You're not heading for a silent exit
No, you're not heading for a silent exit!

My kind of music!! I wasn't sure what to expect from the intro but, once this kicked in, I'm with ya!! It's powerful and raw as it needs to be, but there's musicality too. I reminds of Green Day in some ways. Awesome guys!! :)

Hey, that's great news about the new album @PeteS and I'm sure that the man of cows and parsley will do a fabulous mastering job for you guys. I think that this is the most energetic track that I've heard from you guys after the intriguing intro. I also thought that this one had a Green Day feel to it and also some nice Mick Jones bv's. Great drive and use of space too. Congratulations on an excellent job

Great tune!!!

That excellent chorus is definitely worth the repetition that hammers it home.

@PeteS

Hi guys, great bass tone, loved the intro, I'd have been tempted to reprise that before going to the last chorus. Great song well performed and the guy who names himself after some form over bovine verbiage will do a great job for you!

Excellent!

Yo Pete.

A fine 'in yer face' rocker. I get the early Green Day vibe too. I loved them back then.

I really dug that key change during the guitar break. Potent stuff and much enjoyed.

Yeah!  Great energy bursts out of nowhere after that surprising intro.  The chorus is a fists-in-the-air winner... a bit of a football chant... I could imagine a room full of people joining in to that.  A real rabble rouser, this one.  Great "90s + punk" cocktail going on here to my ears.
It's all too beautiful.

Thanks guys, really appreciate you listening and glad you liked it!

@Paulyx That's the vibe I was after and the change down to the solo came as just a way to give it something fifferent to just a solo over the same chords.  I loved it so pleased you did too.
@Skub Thanks man, solos are always a challenge because I don't really like them, I'm more of an indie solo player rather than a fast rock soloist.  This made it feel right though.
@Jamie I did try bringing the intro back in but didn't work for 2 reasons.  I didn't really like the interruption to the punk energy and as an album, I've done that a couple of toimes already! :D
@Unclenny Thanks  8)
@moraamarolaloba Thanks Mora!
@pompeyjazz Mick Jones BVs!  I'll have to dig out the old Clash albums and check it out!
@ChrisPrice Thanks for the Green Day comparison.  One of my favourite bands live!

Cool - something of the Jam here, great energy in the bass and drums and the shouty BVs really have that British feel. Really like the guitar solo too. Still characteristically you though! Great stuff.

The beginning of the song is amazing! I love this kind of intro. And then it started to sound like an energetic rock with bright vocals and beautiful backing vocals.
Amazing drummer. This is rock!

Love this @PeteS - great intro and the punky shouty vox are perfect. The BVs are great and really lift that fab catchy chorus! Great energy and yes Greenday for me too!!

I think this might be my fave of yours!

Great stuff!!

@PeteS - A absolutely cracking tune, (all of them on the album are really first rate...) I always wanted to hear you push your vocals.

Full of balls and attitude, as so many have said, the BV's are really sorted, as are the drums and positioning of the guitars, it can end up as a production bun fight in genres like this, but you've mixed this really well.

Proud to be part of the journey.
