Im still very fresh to this forum, but Im glad Ive discovered it. Theres a wide variety of styles here, which suits me fine as I'm all over the place with my compositions. I'm currently without a studio set up so i've not written anything new in ages. Part of my reason for joining this forum is to give myself a kick up the arse to bring some creativity back into my life. So heres another old new song, a bit better produced than my Take Loads of Drugs track, but still ropy by the standards of some of you guys. Its another tale of unrequited love. Enjoy!

All I ever wanted was you.

I'll never forget her eyes,
When something inside just dies,
The unrequited love of your life,
Stings like the cut of a knife.

And all I ever wanted was you,
And all I ever wanted was you,
You can count the cost,
You can roll the dice,
I wont let go at any price.
Cos all i ever wanted was you - was you.

Love isnt fair or just,
It blows in the wind like dust,
I fall to my knees and pray,
Then watch as night turns to day.

And all I ever wanted was you,
And all I ever wanted was you,
You can count the cost,
You can roll the dice,
I wont let go at any price,
Cos all I ever wanted was you.

I worked hard to be with you,
Well what else could i do,
You were more than I ever knew,
All the things that we'd been through,
Always felt so true,
But left me feeling blue,
Why cant you love me too?

And all I ever wanted was you,
And all I ever wanted was you,
You can count the cost,
You can roll the dice,
I wont let go at any price.

I never saw her again,
I never saw her again,
I never saw her again,
I never saw her again.

Hey Professor, another nice track. I though this had a kind of Joy Division vibe. Liked the thumpy bassline and the repetition is quite hypnotic. The run up at the end of the middle 8 was cool too. Solid slice of indie rock here. Intriguing video too… good to see Bungle.. how did you make that?
It's all too beautiful.

Ahhh! that's very astute of you spotting the joy division influence, yeah I love hooky's melodic basslines and this track definitely has a nod to love will tear us apart....in my opinion one of the greatest songs ever written.  The video was just slung together in Windows moviemaker - yes it's that old - it was actually for a completely different tune which I repurposed for this. Its not meant to be anything other than some nonsense to look at. Thanks for taking the time to listen @PaulyX

As others have mentioned, adore the Hooky style bass. The whole thing is very post-punk/new-wave. Your style of vocals are very appealing to me. A pure expression of thoughts and feelings. Lovely melody, chorus too. I'll have that bass stuck in my head all day. Great stuff!

Hi mate, good to hear another tune from you, definitely more polished than the your previous song although I did love it. Some great lyrics in here and I was getting some Libertines vibes from this one, really cool indie rock song you've created here, I'd certainly listen again! nice work.

Great stuff @ProfessorFalken I really enjoyed your last number as well. This has a great 80's indie vibe to it, It reminds me of some of the stuff that might have been on a Cherry Red compilation album at that time. Nice melody you've got there too. Good piece of work and enjoyed the listen

Funny that @pompeyjazz mentioned Cherry Red. Blast from the past that and I have so many of their records in my attic. Yeah, this track would fit nicely into the more poppy end of their stable and definitely carries the indie vibe of the early eighties well. Loved the dominant bass then uncertain but quirky guitars. Chorus - bit of an ear worm for sure.

Crackers video, I’d have no idea about how to go about creating such a thing. Good one, even though you say it’s old.

Entertainment all round, cheers!

Yo Professor.

A catchy 80s infused song.

I hear a bit of Lou Reed influence in the vocals, which is fine by me.

I didn't watch the video,as I prefer to listen with no distractions.
