I know I have not been around for quite some time........and I won't be back with a song again for quite a while as I am being forced to dismantle the studio for an unexpected move. I'll stop in from time to time to listen.   :)

I just wanted to leave with this little commentary on a certain unfortunate situation that really should not be happening in a civilized and somewhat enlightened world.

My best to all of you.  8)

If we cross that line
You have promised consequences
It's a dangerous time
In the world today
All we're tryin' to do
Is mend a few fences
And all your cryin'
Doesn't make much sense
You've done your worst
Now we've had it with your ways

'Cause all your lyin'
And foolish pretenses
And sabre rattlin'
Makes you sound crazed
While people are dying
Hungry and defenseless
All of your threats just sound senseless
You fired first
So you get to pay

And what are we going to do about that

We'll let the chips fall

You can stick your threats
Where the sun don't shine
I know you've got yours
But I've got mine

Instrumental

You sure talk tough
For someone who is losin'
Well we've had enough
Of your evil ways
I for one think
You're cruisin' for a bruisin'
So push your little buttons
And do what you've been doin'
But I think it's time
We be Putin you in your place

Then we'll let the chips fall

What a lovely clear acoustic sound @Unclenny and love the guitar doodles as well. Your songs are always unconventional in structure and interesting in arrangement. Quite unique in fact. Lovely husky vocals are the icing on the cake. Fab stuff

@moraamarolaloba .....thank you for listening, Mora. Smiling that you liked that harp. Give a listen to the next song up for some more harmonica. Way (way!) back in the day I played harp in a rockin' blues band called "Whirlwind".

@pompeyjazz .....thanks for your appreciation of my odd style. I guess it is what it is after all these years. Very pleased to hear that the acoustic guitar tone comes across in this one. That is always the challenge no matter how often I track it.

It goes without saying I'm with you all the way with the lyrics. The song is really nicely arranged. No crits at all from me. Btw, I like the snippet from 'War' at the end. Musicians have been saying their piece about it for as long as I've been alive. An appropriate time for a protest song I think :)

I dig that spanky guitar tone in the intro licks.

There's a Knopfler vibe to both guitar and vocals. With regard to the message,I think you are preaching to the converted, but the more voices, the merrier imo.

Good luck with the move,I know what it's like to have your flow disturbed,it's not easy to come back sometimes.

Hey @Unclenny - love that intro.. Perfectly timely lyric.. Great but subtle bite to the vocal delivery.. Gotta love that harmonica! Clever way to take it out - the second song in particular..

That's what I'm talkin' about!

@ChrisPrice ....never thought I'd write a protest song but that is where I have been at of late. Appreciate that about the arrangement.

@Skub ........thanks for your appreciation of that guitar tone. I dialed that in from my handy little Line 6 HX through my '71 SG.  :) Yeah.....it's interesting taking apart the studio. It may be a while but I'll be back.

@Jamie ......thanks for listening and for those kind words,

@MonnoDB ..........Thanks for checking this one out, Karen. Your words of encouragement were crucial.  ;) Yeah, that Buffalo Springfield thing at the end really did fit just right.

This is a lovely vehicle for your righteous anger.  Like others, I like the unconventional structure of it.  Interesting lack of percussion too - it adds to the unusual stop/start feel to the rhythm.  Sweet harmonica when it appears.  Very nice piece.
It's all too beautiful.

Love the lryics (especially the line "you can stick your threats where the sun don't shine" - beautiful lyric).

Enjoyed this very much.
