Okay. That time of year to break out the Christmas songs! But you know me... I don't do happy (or any of the other dwarves!). So, like I did last year, I've gone for an "alternative" Christmas song that is just cram-filled with misery and pain.

Anyone sensitive to "adult" topics of a "mature" nature, best to stop here and not read on. The subject matter is neglect and worse...

ANOTHER LONELY CHRISTMAS

VERSE
There are children in the white fields
Throwing snowballs with delight
But I barely hear them laughing
As I mournfully pass by
It's a childhood I would kill for
That I never got to have
For my Santa Claus was Satan
In disguise of mortal man

PRE-CHORUS
You're supposed to be protected
By the ones who share your blood
But the drink released his demons
And a demon cannot love

CHORUS
The drunken fist came raging down
The screams, the tears, the pain.
Nowhere to hide; the lights go out
Again! Again! Again!

VERSE
There will always be that secret
That you cannot bear to tell
But I promised myself, one day
All the world would know my hell
When I hear those church bells rings
I am drawn towards their call
But my courage fails entirley
When I stand before its doors

PRE-CHORUS
While the choir sings to their saviour
I just turn and walk away
He deserted me in childhood
So why rescue me today?

CHORUS
The drunken fist came raging down
The screams, the tears, the pain.
Nowhere to hide; the lights go out
Again! Again! Again!

INSTRUMENTAL

VERSE
As I walk alone towards home
And that empty four-walled cell
That I used to call a bedroom
That is now my earthly hell
It has been ten years of freedom
Though I'm still enslaved in truth
In my mind I am imprisoned
By the shame he put me through

PRE-CHORUS
And I close the door behind me
With the world locked safe outside
Just another lonely Christmas
That was stolen by his lies

CHORUS
The drunken fist came raging down
The screams, the tears, the pain.
Nowhere to hide; the lights go out
Again! Again! Again!
