For my latest song I decided to embark upon a life of crime!. As is so often the way, it didn't end well!! All I can say is that it's rather warm down here and some weird looking dude with horns keeps prodding me with a pitch fork!! Here's 'Guilty As Charged':

Guilty As Charged
Words and Music ©2022 Chris Price

Pistols loaded balaclavas and limmo like a tank
Ripping through the city lights towards the central bank
Caught red handed looks like you gonna have to walk the plank

They gonna come down on you real hard
Yer gonna be pacing round the exercise yard
The judge put on his black cap and he say you been found
Guilty as charged

Hijacked a plane, landed in Spain everythin’ goin’ to plan
Villa on the med, women in yer bed, whatever you want you can
Olive green caps, guns in your back, got their wanted, wanted man

They gonna come down on you real hard
Yer gonna be pacing round the exercise yard
The judge put on his black cap and he say you been found..

You have been found guilty of the most heinous crime
You shall be taken to the place from whence you came,
and from there be taken to a place of execution where
you shall be hanged by the neck until you are dead

They gonna come down on you real hard
Yer gonna be pacing round the exercise yard
The judge put on his black cap and he say you been found
Guilty as charged

Another corker, Chris!

Love the feel of all of your stuff…that proper “70s live band” sound is perfect to my ears.

The lyrics are always well crafted and although often somewhat lighthearted, they are really well written. Not easy to do that as consistently as you do.

I kick myself for not doing a song earlier with the same title, as it’s a bit of a catchphrase of mine in “real life”

Cracking stuff!

A pumping,high voltage,full on rocker,which can't be bad in my book.

You communicate a passion and joy of playing with your music,Chris. I always think a listener can detect that.

Loads of energy in this Chris, I especially liked the screaming solo. The rhythm guitar is relentless. Great rocker with a date stamp of early 70s and would be great to hear live. Fun lyrics, which you don’t really deserve to be hung for, but hangings used to be considered entertainment. We’ve not had one on here for a while, so if you insist.  ;)

That blew the cobwebs off me anyway. 👏
My latest novel: pls check it out!

Yeah I really like this no-nonsense 70s rock vibe too... this could easily be on one of the good Who albums. Fist pumping high octane foot tapping rabble rousing stuff. What’s not to like about that? :-)
It's all too beautiful.

Thanks for listening guys and for your kind words. Yeah, 70's rock n roll vibe about sums it up. Hangings - entertainment?? I nearly mentioned a prominent UK politician, but that would be totally out of order here!! ;D

Hola @ChrisPrice
I have the feeling that the pandemic is giving you strength? Your songs are getting better and better, like this one, very good arrangement and very good story. Your style is unmistakable.

See you soon!

@moraamarolaloba Thanks very much. Yes, the pandemic has given me strength. I haven't been able to play live for a long time so I decided to channel my energy into writing and recording which is how I started out when I was young. I want to play live again but only when the time is right, and I want to play the right music this time, not just a load of old covers. I've just done a remix of this song which should play if you listen again. Best regards to you and your family and friends in Spain. Stay Safe Mora.

@ChrisPrice,

Great 70’s sound here Chris.  It’s a real authentic, retro rocker.  Vocals sound great as does the playing, especially the bass!  The songwriting is nailed on, so what more could we ask for.

Quality work.

This is my kind of music, definitely. I love the sounds in there--the guitars, that "bubbly" or whatever-it-is...are great. Well, it's all great. No nits from me. I could dance all night. If I still had any energy.... Super job with the lyric, too.
