This isn't strictly speaking a Christmas song but, even so, those allergic to sleigh bells, kids' choirs and Santa hats should probably give it a wide berth!

This is December's song from the forthcoming album Musicalmanac by Mirrie Dancer, featuring Josie Black, available for download in the new year, all proceeds to Macmillan Cancer Support.

ah seasonal greets and chrissy decks
my favourite time of year

I like when the choir comes in
gets a bit frantic

the colourful sweaters aside

well done
It's either this or that, then again it might be the other.

I can promise you a future of slow decline.

Don't eat the yellow snow

And there you have it.

Struck me as being very professionally done…which I can’t imagine ever aspiring to achieve. You look like you were enjoying yourselves…and the children even managed not to look like they were being held hostage.

Very well done, all round. Festive cheer…and who couldn’t like a bit of that?

That female voice could also come in handy if you ever needed to get at an item that is behind a sign saying “in case of emergency, break glass” and neither of you wanted to take your hands out of your pockets…or headbutt it.

Happy Christmas!

Hi Theatreman... dig it! Sometimes a big slab of uncynical happiness is what the morning needs, and you’ve filled that hole for me with ample to spare. Must have been fun to make for all of you. The layering of the tracks as it builds is impressive, I wonder if you worked all that out in advance or just winged it when the kids came in? Either way it’s big Christmassy and relentlessly positive... thumbs up.
It's all too beautiful.

@Theatreman,

I’m going to echo what others have said, this is musically accomplished and there is real writing skill here.  I can hear  how it will transpose to a live environment too.  This is immediately catchy and does what it says on the tin.  It’s a feel good Christmas song that is filled with optimism and charm!

Well done

Paul

Hi Theatreman,

Well I think this song is wonderfully uplifting and it's performed as your name suggests...I can imagine this in a live theatre :)

Your voices are awesome together and lovely to add the children's voices as well  :) They looked like they were having fun :)

Very professionally done. Thanks for sharing  :)
