Hope everyone is well.

I'm trying to keep my hand in. I still continue to write new songs but this one has been completely reworked from a song that I wrote for a band I used to  play with some years ago.

Blinded

Some things you notice, they shine so bright;
Never needing to advertise.

All things must fade.
Beauty offers up this masquerade.

If she is all that I desire then I am blinded.

Blinded.
Blinded.

Some things you covet, they're out of reach.
There's no forgiveness in this summer heat.

All things must fade.
Beauty offers up this masquerade.

If she is all that I desire then I am blinded.

Blinded.
Blinded.

A million stars light up around her.
The scent of gardens fills the air.
For centuries, this scene repeared.
A man wrapped up in his despair.

If she is all that I desire then I am blinded.

Blinded.
Blinded.

Hola @Wicked Deeds

Niceto see you!!!
It's a very cool ballad, I like the general sound given by the guitars and the mix looks fine! I am a fan of bass this is why I think that may be it could have more volume?

I really enjoyed it!!

very charming song

Dark humour alarm
Speaking to my blind brother the other day
he was talking of getting a piano or a guitar
He has time to learn covers

I've been encouraging him to do just that off n on over the years.

he went blind several years ago

he never really accepted it
maybe he can cover this song lol.

Oh it's excellent by the way. One of your best!
It's either this or that, then again it might be the other.

I can promise you a future of slow decline.

Interesting guitar arpeggios at the beginning of the song and in the chorus, very lyrical and a little bit sad. Beautiful vocals.
Maybe the high frequencies are noticeable for me, but it's just in my taste, a lot of people like hight frequency songs.
Overall, the song is beautiful! Good to listen to.

Very summery and breezy, the backing is bouncy but doesn't take over. I think one of the things you always do well is choose instrument sounds. The vocal harmonies on the chorus are subtle and work really well. A very nice listen.

Really enjoyed this. Lovely summery vibe with a melancholy undertow. Nice crisp production. I reckon a few more backing vocals would it sound even airier. Great song.

@Wicked Deeds  I can really hear a bitterness behind the clenched teeth smile of this song… ‘ If she is all that I desire then I am blinded.’ great lyric! I like the whole contradicting sentiment behind this… great instrumentation and production to frame it too!👌
Sound formed in a vacuum may seem a waste of time...

@Wicked Deeds 'If she is all that I desire then I am blinded.' What a terrific line that is. I like the bass line there too. I like the sparse production and the middle section is just what the song needs. Fabulous. :)

This is great Paul, love the swing feel and the smooth warm vibe to it... plus the line 'for centuries this scene repeated' - it lifts it from being about a specific love affair to being a comment on human nature (our endless capacity to fall for a pretty face... well that's how I interpreted it anyway).  Instrumental choices are super too - everything gels.
It's all too beautiful.

Yep this is one of my favourites of your songs @Wicked Deeds . Lovely melodies for the verse and chorus but I also love the little 2 chord bridge thing up to the chorus. Big fan of the bass in this & the snare (!?) on the last chorus. Splendid lyrics too, slightly sour but with the sweet melodies its perfect. Beautifully crafted song Paul.  :)

Very nice production on this Paul! I love the arpeggios throughout. You sound great and I agree with others about the fantastic lyrics….”if she is all I desire then I am blinded”…well, I’ve been there done that…and she wore MY T shirt!🤪🤦🏼‍♂️
Great harmonies on the chorus aswell. Keep going mate!!🤩🎶👍🏻🎶

Lots of hooks right from the off - really nice intro that pulls you into the song. Vocals are nice and clean - and the chorus lifts at all the right places. I maybe would have double tracked the first (high) 'blinded' to give it that Lightning Seeds kind of feel. A nice slice of Friday pop... 8)

Hi Paul,

Good upbeat feel to the track.
Was getting a slight hint of U2/Coldplay in some of the guitars.
Liked the change around 2.18. Those piano(?) stabs work very nice - just removes the listener from the main melody of the chorus before letting you back in for the outro chorus, etc.
