lyrics:

drumroll & the truth
____________________

tell me dear what I want to hear
then again, think I’d rather have
  ... wait for it... drumroll...
           and the... truth
find myself in discord
with the song you sing
profit over people ... and all o' that
    unnecessary... suffering

mine is the folly of youth
subject unto my genes
merely a puppet with
    the strength of strings

seems she had her flight of fancy
her taste in men is quite beyond me
bloodbombs from her defunct marriage
them cheeky cherubs have done their damage
       with the...
              strength of... strings

an untimely twilight
     decends too soon
now the mid of the night
            and there is no moon
       drumroll...
              and the... truth
with the strength of strings

It's either this or that, then again it might be the other.

I can promise you a future of slow decline.

Hola @rightly

Once again I read your lyrics before listening to the song and I keep thinking. You get the rawness to become a scene captured in a painting, so you give it art and poetry ...
Afterwards I listen to you, the instrumentation and its colors surround the stage where things take place. I have loved the style, sometimes for some sound you have made me think about the so vividly dramatic colors that the Fairs have.
I did not know that to live we had to die so many times

hi Mora!

yes, i think my songs are often like paintings
I don't like to verbally explain everything
I like an more natural interactive exchange
I like to think I'm gradually getting better with the music
It's quite an intense session when I'm producing, I want to capture a lot quickly and rush to an end, thereby I often get into a mess.
It's truly a bumpy ride, can be exhausting.

I think you have quite an enlightened perception and I really appreciate your comments.
It's either this or that, then again it might be the other.

‘…a puppet with the strength of strings’ - love that!! And that it recurs throughout the song. Some lovely lines in there and I really love the fancy/beyond me! I get very excited by interesting rhymes!! I’m a rhyme nerd! 🙂🙂

As always, unusual arrangement and delivery. Well, of course it’s maybe not unusual as I expect it to be so - it always takes me a couple of listens to sink into your songs… time well spent!

I shall be listening again @rightly !

Great stuff altogether!

I'm a rhyme nerd too!

One day I'll get it right so
listeners just wander in and get led astray!

lol

thanks for commenting Karen

Always, a very interesting write. Love the .........."wait for it...."
This preface should be used throughout.
Pretty cool.......and also like your cadence of the sage performance / recital.

Good stuff!

@rightly This is brilliant. You are fearless with your instrumentation and arrangements and I admire that. Despite the strangeness of what's going on here, this song is really addictive. It's a million miles from what I do, but that's probably why I like it so much. I'm not putting myself down by saying that, but it's just great to hear something so inspiring which is well outside of my of my musical comfort zone. Totally into this. :)

"Fearless" maybe
i just moved the goalposts to keep it more interesting for myself.
the posts aren't random or floating but intentional n fixed.
I'm still learning as i go.
i like strange n newness, Dylan is inspiring for me. think of innovative he was in his day.

all the best!
