A different time
Intro: A song comes on the radio
That kid’s today would never know
And the memories flood like tears
Taking us back so many years

Chorus. We can sit and reminisce,
On the tunes that we remember
As the fire starts to peter
It’s like reigniting an ember
Adding one more coal
To re-fire the soul,
What would people give
To live, the life we lived

V1. The joys of friends and family
When we revelled in their company
The party’s the endless nights
The dance floors and disco lights
We had the rhythm and the Rhyme
We belong to a different time

Chorus: We can sit and reminisce,
On the tunes that we remember
As the fire starts to peter
It’s like reigniting an ember
Adding one more coal
To re- fire the soul,
What would people give
To live, the life we lived

V2. The passion and the pride
The destination and the ride
The concerts, the films, the plays
The long weekends and the holidays
We were partners in crime
We belong to a different time

Repeat Chorus

Outro: Every generation have their tunes
Songs that resonate with them
That signpost every key event
A reminder of how their life was spent

This is really good and so true, I remember years back having a few drinks with a mate of mine and our kids were in their early teens, we were talking about what your lyrics is all about, just one change but it don't really matter if it flows in song "The long weekends the holidays"

Great lyrics

Thanks, this is my take on the power of song to promote a sense of nostalgia.

Enjoyed this one. I like the nostalgic message and I definitely agree that music can bring back so many memories. Also, I agree that music was better back in the day even though I was only a kid in the 80s I still find that era best for music in general. A nice flow, some good rhymes and a cheery vibe.
