Very interesting how you go straight into the song without an intro as though you want to get straight down to business.

The dipping melody on the word ‘hardest’ is very impactful and then the haunting melody of the whistle is unexpected but quite marvellous. It’s a very mature piece overall, showing off the skills of someone very assured by now in their craft.

Thank God as well,  you have saved me from the theme to Titanic the movie, when the use of the Irish whistle was ruined seemingly forever! But no more, that was very beautiful- thank you! 👍
My latest novel: pls check it out!

‘Gavin & The Bodysnatchers’, a quirky comedy crime thriller. Easily found on Amazon.

Hi There..........I like what you've said about "little snapshots"
That's what I write, mostly.
I like this.........very stoic and somber. Love the emotion in the writing, performing and production.
Really good stuff!

Hi Karen - lovely, haunting, delicate, balanced, poignant… Great delivery - emotional but not over emoting.  One of your very best?
It's all too beautiful.

@PaulyX - thanks so much... very kind words..

@IronKnee  - thank you.. yep snapshots are where it's at - thanks for your lovely words..

@MichaelA - yeah I think I do that a lot on my more stripped back.. straight in no messing about.. Thanks for your lovely words.. You made me laugh about the whistle on the Titanic .... (it's actually very well-played whistle on that song but I can see how it might get on your nerves!) Not sure I'll ever be assured but I'm just going with the flow..

@man made material - such lovely words, I thank you sincerely.. chuffed..

@adamfarr - thank you, kind sir.. a master of sad, you say? I do go there a lot I must admit.. Love your opening lines - very deep indeed! I do apologise for making you go there :) !!

Thanks all - very much appreciated!!

Hey there MonnoDB..........this is really inspired. I love the marriage between the lyric and melody.

"What do I do with the pain
To live life again
To remember is hard
To forget is even harder
We’re together alone
I cry but you won’t
I’m weak and you’re strong
But who will fall the hardest?

Do you remember before
The darkness came to call
And took away the dream
Now I yearn for those days
To not know, not feel this way
To be ignorant, to be free
To unsee what I have seen"

Love these lines and where they brought me.
I really like the singer, as well...........;-)
Good stuff!

I like everything about this one - the lyrics are very relatable and beautifully constructed. Piano playing and singing are of course great, but its the tasteful and carefully thought out backing vocals and extra instrumentation that gives this one the extra lift. Really good!
