It’s a Gibson Les Paul Special and it truly is special!
It’s immensely inspiring, great playing and it smells really nice!
It’s just the best gift ever and I’m floating on a cloud!
To show off the guitar, I made this video

Anyone else here who favors a Les Paul?

Great guitar and that is an awesome tune!

I was lucky enough to take a punt on an “unseen” Les Paul Standard via a friend

I am definitely a Fender guy but got offered this beaten up Les Paul for £200!! - it had broken tuners, the pickups didn’t work, was covered in stickers and it was very “relic’d”

I didn’t know if it was a fake or not so just took a punt - fortunately it was a 100% genuine 1990 Les Paul Standard in Ebony Black. I changed the tuners to locking tuners and replaced the pickups with Bare Knuckle Mules

It plays and sounds really nice - but it is as heavy as hell!!

I am thinking of selling it (or part exchanging) as I haven’t really bonded with it - but will probably give it another go when we start gigging again after lockdown

Paul Kossoff is my favourite guitarist so I went a bought a lively Goldtop. Looked gorgeous, smelt fab out of the case, but I never bonded either, too heavy, didn’t stay in tune and just didn’t like the burstbucker pickups. Sold it and got a PRS S2 Mira, very happy. Mind you I fancy a Yellow Junior but about to get a Squier Starcaster for my birthday :-) Neil

What a great present 😀

P90s are probably my favourite pickups...i had a P90 Gibson SG and it sounded really great.

You're a lucky fella 😀

@wyldelife - sure sounds good, I'm a huge P90 fan, I had a 1962 SG special a long time ago, but the humming didn't work for me in studios, so I sold it, later I bought an epi SG special re issue, which is frankly just as good, considered Kinman noiseless P90's...maybe.

I've never been an Les Paul fan, since playing SG's I want the double cutaway, so I went for a Yamaha SG1000 for my LP, that's a fine axe, and like all LP's very heavy, about 3/4 of a ton as I remember.

You play nicely Man, tell me more about your pedal board.
