Excellent song @MichaelA . I always like the sound of the piano on your songs & the lyrics are, of course superb. The only little problem you have creating such great stories is that some knobhead will always be trying to second guess the ending. (I thought she`d be in love with Mr. Bingley. ;D ). But you can`t help that.
Great work as always Michael. :)

Hi @5 guys named Lars, mmm I think your plot idea is better than mine. It’s set up perfectly for your suggestion to happen.  :D  Oh well...must try harder...

Thanks for the appreciation though, cheers.

If anybody is interested I addressed that issue with the brass on the chorus, that solitary horn that a couple of folk didn't like the sound of. Thanks to @pompeyjazz for lending me his trumpet from his BBC Symphony Orchestra pack. This is now layered in with some harmonising brass on the chorus. Hopefully it sounds smoother + a bit more 'up north, mother. Reet good an' all, like.'

I really could do with the help of a colliery brass band though!  ::)

Ah poor Mr P! Loved the twist at the end reading before I listened - lol moment, ya cradlesnatcher you!!

As always, inventive and unusual. The rather slow delivery gives a poignancy I didn’t expect when reading and I think that really works. It could have been jauntier but this I prefer.

Words are fab. Standout line the ‘profit and loss’ one.

Spectacular @MichaelA !!

I can't believe I missed this one! What a fantastic song @MichaelA . You deliver this most excellent story line with perfect sincerity, wringing every last bit of repressed emotion out of a wonderful set of lyrics.

This song is well written and perfectly performed and it is as good as anything I have heard from you over these years.

@MonnoDB, well Karen cradle snatching is a natural fantasy of a gentleman of a certain age. If I fantasised about women 20 years older, most would be in nursing homes. Harsh truth. 😀

Wait a minute though,  Nursing Home Romeo...that sounds like a promising song title. :) Glad you enjoyed the lyrics, I enjoyed writing in that suppressed English way. Thanks for the thumbs up and support, much appreciated.

@Wicked Deeds , thanks Paul for taking the time to give this track another listen. Glad you enjoyed it.

@Unclenny , thanks Steve for your support. It was interesting to hear that you enjoyed it as I was wondering if that repressed very British character in the song would translate well on your side of the Pond. Very pleased to see that it does. All the best 👍

Hi @5 guys named Lars , no problem Chris. I didn't see anything wrong in your first comment, but obviously knew you were shrewd and intelligent being a Liverpool supporter. :)
