@Wicked Deeds Thank Paul, it really can weigh you down.   If I give Neil too much encouragement on a lyrical theme there’d be no stopping him  ;D ;D

@kafla Cheers Andy!

Hi,
Very catchy piece! It's really successful. It all works for me. I really like the little break that calms things down a bit to get back on track.
Good job!

I think I’ve really liked all of your tracks @PeteS - you two make a great team… Great groove to this - I just love how it gets going and it keeps that drive all the way through. The whole thing is super tight as well - the harmonies a lovely touch. Star on on this one is the heavy guitar work.. really drives it along with some class drumming. Sounds like a record to me!

@PeteS

Hi, started out as if it was going to be an AC/DC type song but morphed into more of an Oasis/Blur type vibe. Loved the guitars and the harmonies. The production was good except on the drums. They sounded a little 'flat' and needed to support the great riff stuff.
Enjoyable listen!
Nice one guys

Cheers

@MonnoDB Thanks Karen, much appreciated!

@Jamie  Thanks Jamie.  You're not wrong and I have since re mixed this and added more punch and life to the drums.  Cheers

Great guitar sounds and some really cool lyrics but I really love that break down to bass and percussion and slow build back up a bit of killing joke in that maybe?... I could listen to that brooding little riff all day! Great song overall too👍
Sound formed in a vacuum may seem a waste of time...

Thanks @man made material I was pleased with that idea and the build evolved fairly naturally.  The vocal to go with it on the other hand took a bit more work.  Tried a lot of variations before settling on this one.

Great stuff, me like! A few suggestions:

- Maybe strip off (or at least back off) the guitars in the first verse? Would make a better build and would also let that nice bass line shine. even a bass player needs 15 seconds of fame  ;)

- I think the chorus does not quite take off as it should. To me it needs something more (or something less in the part before it) to really give  you that "whoa! here comes the chorus" feeling. At least bring the guitars up a bit in the mix. Well, the drums as well. Maybe it is the vox being a tad to up front? Not sure but it left me a little disappointed. My personal motto: if in doubt, add more guitars  ;D

Just my personal prefs of course, keep or sweep :-)

Somehow missed this one. GREAT riff! I didn't actually mean to do that in all caps...I just blundered onto the "caps lock" key and saw it as an act of God and therefore one I shouldn't trifle with correcting.

It's a top song...I'd have really gone for it with the drums and bass, I think...and maybe pulled them up a bit in level as I thought that the vocal maybe overpowered the backing a tiny bit?

Excellent, though!

Love the guitar riffs! Excellent song with lots of sound in it. And lyrics that many can see themselves in I think :)

Love the riff Pete.
Verse melody is really catchy and is a nice contrast to the more simple and powerful chorus.
Builds back up nicely from the M8.
As I said love that riff and wondered if you could feature it a bit more. Maybe it could sit behind....sorry...the 'leave the past behind' third chords of the chorus...maybe especially towards the end where it would break up the repetitions a bit. Maybe it wouldn't work though.....

Nice song. Catchy.
Take it easy.

@Jambrains I get what you're saying about the Chorus.  I think it works but could maybe be bigger.  And I agree, more guitars is the answer to a lot of questions.  Unfortunately, not any of the ones my wife asks me  ;D

@PaulAds Thanks Paul, I have just remixed it and done some of that!

@Andreas Thanks.  I love the riff of course, but you are so right about the lyrics.

@Viscount Cramer & His Orchestra Interesting idea VC, I'll give it a go.  Cheers.

Really good one this one! Guitars are worth the listen alone. Lots of weight but all sounding tight and under control.
I always like your lyrics as you (both) seem to use words that noone else does but which still sound completely natural (crawl, amends, lens, defined...)
Great breakdown section as well, great fun and catchy track.
